Next time you visit Waco the circle will look different

I've never had trouble navigating the Waco Circle. I-35 through Temple is another story altogether.

The Circle has needed this for awhile, problem is nobody is following/obeying the lines. The right lane is a turn right "Only" lane at each entry point, but people are getting in that lane and just 'blowing thru' it and not going right and doing whatver they want.

The tourists don't know how to navigate a 4 way stop on 6th and Webster. These lanes aren't going to do jack.

This basically ruins the entire purpose of a traffic circle as a control mechanism.

The point of a traffic circle is that it's a wide open space. As such, you're required to approach slowly, yield right of way to occupied traffic, and proceed to your right SLOWLY until exiting. If you operate your vehicle with an eye towards not running into someone else, it just isn't that mentally taxing.

Now, everyone's going to want to read the lines. They're going to expect everyone to stay in their own line, while they fly through as fast as possible.

Frankly, if you're enthralled by gray bricks and $20 muffins, let someone else drive you.

Full disclosure...After the OU game, I had hosted some friends of mine that were not only OU alums, they were OU cheerleaders. The wife of my friend was an all american cheerleader at OU. That being said, they were staying at a hotel off of valley mills and I-35. We ended up on the circle and went around it I don't know how many times speaking in Irish accents. I guess I am glad I got home without an infraction.

This is a stupid, horrible idea!!!!! If the out of town idiots can't navigate it this is not going to help.

There are no warnings as you approach that the right lane is an immediate turn only and basically nothing more than a turn around.

The lines force you to break numerous traffic laws once you do get to the road you want.

For example, if you are coming from the south part of 77 (coming from Robinson) and go around the circle and need to get to the frontage road- the circle with lines put you in the left lane going towards Valley Mills and you know have to immediately cut across 2 lanes of traffic to get to the frontage road--- essentially a right turn from the left hand lane of 3.

No it has not needed this. There were no problems there until Magnolia Table opened.

As to the right lane- it is NOW a turn only lane. But before it was not that as a law or ordinance type thing. It was just known you use the right hand as you approach your exit and if you start in the right hand lane you should be taking the first or second exit.

People are ignoring the lines because the lines make no sense and the people who live in town drive it the same way they always have.

The lines make perfect sense and are helpful except for the idiots who are blasting right over and thru the turn only lanes to go left and cut in front of the ones doing it right.
