Yes, I know that D-Day was today, and yes, I know that C.W. McCall sang "It was the dark of the moon, the 6th of June," on his hit "Convoy."
BUT, today is a day in Texas history, because on this day, back in 1955, the Warner Bros. cast and crew began their location shoot in Marfa, TX to produce GIANT, the national movie of Texas.
Here are some home movies of Rock and Elizabeth Taylor on the set of GIANT in 1955, out on the Evans Ranch. It was shot on 8mm film by Bobbie Alexander of Fort Stockton. She graciously loaned it to me to digitize.
It's short, but it is "never before seen" footage.
Enjoy, on the 6th of June.
