I am back in Texas for a week and rode my Heritage Classic around Temple and Waco today. What a joy. Your wife won't let you have a mc? I am an old man and can't imagine asking permission. Have mercy. I will be in town for two weeks. You can borrow mine for a day. It's a beauty.

That is certainly too much bike for you then.

Check your local community college for a weekend rider safety course. Spring/Summer is a popular time. Depending on the state, many our certified to deliver a written portion or full motorcycle endorsement after the course. Usually good classroom instruction and the best classes spend a lot of time on bikes. They usually supply the bike like a 125-150 cc.

Gets your feet wet without freaking your wife out with buying a bike that she knows you are going to ride. The safety training should ease some of her worries. You may not like it. If you do, then figure out a way to get her on a bike for a ride. She may love it.

i offered. but you are right. a full sized HD is not a good beginners bike.

since you cant get a bike have you looked at a chevy spark?

My wife is somewhat of an environmentalist...which is odd because I am almost an anti-environmentalist...anyway, she is going to be getting a hybrid and I am going to parlay my "sacrifice" on not getting a bike to, at the minimum a honda civic type r...also looking at an Audi TT, Golf GTI...Nissan 370Z...
