We want Faron!!

Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

While we're doing great old country, here are three of the all time greats together. Ernest Tubb with Merle Haggard and Chet Atkins playing Walkin' the Floor Over You. I went to see Ernest Tubb as a teenager at Riverside Hall in East Bernard. It was a blast to have Ernest playing a great old time dance hall. I'm probably on a short list of people that saw live performances of Ernest Tubb and Led Zeppelin in the same month.

Ernest Tubb is my dad's favorite artist. I was raised on his music!

One of our family traditions at weddings
We start a conga line and snake through the dining tables ...
Dancing & picking up relatives from each table to join us ...
This is the kick-off song (played twice)

Crush - Paul Van Dyk

Packed the dance floor at Crobar
even though many folks interpreted the lyrics as the words of a stalker.
I believe most of the dancers just heard the driving music and the brief moment when the swirling lights froze their action for the catch line "I know you want me".

Rest in Peace, Tom Petty
October 20, 1950 - October 2, 2017

Q. What about writing a book?

Kim Mulkey
"Right after the national championship Peter May with the Boston Globe approached me about doing it ... It's been a two year process, and the title of it is Won't Back Down. That title came from the Tom Petty song, I love that song. It kind of describes me. I'm just not going to back down. I'm a fighter, I'm a competitor, that's how we came up with the title."

Another Steve Earle fav

Was listening to Steve Earle this a.m. Came across this one that I had forgotten about, but like a lot, a duet with Iris Dement.

A fun one with Old Crow Medicine Show, Mumford & Sons, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes all together at a train station in Austin, doing This Train is Bound for Glory. I would love to be as deliriously happy as these guys about 6 minutes into this. I'm not sure Alex Ebert is completely with us on this, but he seems to be having fun. A lot of talent here having a good time together. They all did a tour together, via train, from California to New Orleans.

That was at Bonnaroo Music Festival. It is an annual event held in Tennessee...lots of bluegrass and americana type bands.
