Btw: Moody is the K that Dallas wanted. They would have taken him 7th or possibly 6th round. SF took him in the 3rd round...

Looks like a UDFA steal. And they signed him immediately. Right off the bat he's our short yardage guy

wonder if the D coaches envision any situation where they play Hankins and Mazi at the same time other than short yardage?

BTW - as athletic as Mazi is, I could see him running some short yardage on the other side of the line, as the upback

Day 3 picks that the Dallas Cowboys traded away for Brandin Cooks, Stephon Gilmore, and Johnathan Hankins
  • 161 (Brandin Cooks): Nick Hampton, EDGE, Appalachian State taken by the Rams
  • 176 (Stephon Gilmore): Evan Hull, RB, Northwestern taken by the Colts
  • 204 (Johnathan Hankins): Jarrick Bernard-Converse, CB, LSU taken by the Jets

I dont give 2 fks about how good the eagles might be, they can still lick the ******* side of my balls, for life
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

On adding former Falcon starting LB Rashan Evans

The Falcons signed Evans in free agency during the 2022 offseason, giving him a one-year $1.75 million deal according to Spotrac. It was a "prove-it" deal, and it's hard to say Evans didn't do that.

The 27-year-old totaled 159 tackles, adding two sacks, four passes defended and a forced fumble. Playing and starting in all 17 games is a great sign too, as Evans is clearly healthy and his production reverted to the flashes fans saw in 2019.

According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Dallas was considering former Purdue quarterback Aidan O'Connell in the fourth round before snagging pass rusher Viliami Fehoko at No. 129. O'Connell is one of the quarterbacks who had been most linked to Dallas leading up to the draft, but ultimately it was the Raiders who traded up to take the signal-caller just a few picks later at No. 135.

"I think they almost took Aidan O'Connell there in the fourth round," Archer explained during a May 1, 2023 edition of 105.3 The Fan's "Shan and RJ." "I think he was up for discussion at No. 129 before they took [Viliami] Fehoko. And then once you get past that round, listen, they like the three guys that they have."

starting to get upset with Parsons move to full time DE until I read the numbers:

Quote:

Parsons' role has begun to shift over time toward playing on the outside. As a rookie, he played 54.3% of his snaps inside the box as an interior linebacker, but as a sophomore, he played just 18.6% there, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). Instead, he spent 738 of his 917 snaps out wide on the edge.

Parsons seemed to make the switch in his second year, but his splits between inside and outside fluctuated from game to game, depending on the team and the defensive game plan. Heading into 2023, though, Parsons said he is bulking up in order to make the position change.

He's one of the top 2-3 pass rushers in the game. Let him run

At his old playing weight, no telling how much adding 25 and adding more muscle mass will affect him

He's not trying to add 25 lbs. He's looking to add 8-10 lbs of lean muscle

btb;

According to Spotrac, Dallas currently sits at $16.65 million in cap space. Their 2023 rookies are projected to count about $4.88 million against the offseason (top 51) cap, leaving the Cowboys with a little under $12 million to work with. That alone would allow them to make at least one significant signing if not a few more.

But wait, there's more! After June 1st, the release of RB Ezekiel Elliott finally becomes effective from a cap standpoint. Dallas will receive another $10.9 million in space, taking them to roughly over $22 million in space even after signing their rookies.

The roster is already so good idk if we need to bring in anyone else. If we do, I think I'd be a veteran WR or OL on a 1 year deal for experienced depth. Ben Jones, former Titans center, to be backup or if T.Y. Hilton wants to play another year, we could bring him back. Jarvis Landry maybe.
