So the TEXANS are the best NFL team in Texas!!!
LOVE IT !!
They disbanded back in 1952. Even returned their franchise to the NFL

They became the Baltimore Colts, which are today the Indianapolis Colts.
Actually they didn't. When I was working on some Dallas stuff for my Facebook pages, I kept running into things that contradicted that. The franchise was abandoned and returned to the NFL. The NFL awarded the Colts a brand new franchise the next season. Texan players disbursed to multiple teams. However the Colts were allowed to purchase all the equipment and uniforms. Hence the Baltimore blue still of today.
BTW - there was so much mis-information out there that I reached out to the NFL to clarify for my 'Memories of Dallas' Facebook page. The told me that the Texans franchise was returned to the league Nov 14, 1952 and after they couldn't find a buyer for the team, the franchise was cancelled. The NFL had a hole in their calendar where the Texans were originally and awarded a new franchise to the Colts in January of 1953. NFL says that they consider the Colts as a 1953 EXPANSION team; it does not consider the Colts to be a continuation of the Yanks/Bulldogs/Yanks/Texans franchise.
- Nov 12, 1952, NFL Commissioner Bert Bell called a meeting and posted a press release that; the Dallas Texans are guilty of acts detrimental to the NFL for failing to operate and field a team through the 1952 season and therefore the franchise was 'hereby canceled and forfeit'
