As a Cowboy fan, I am not all offended by what DeMarcus Lawrence said. Let's be honest with ourselves. I was 20 the last time the Dallas Cowboys won a Super Bowl. I turn 50 this year, That means January 2026 will mark 30 years that the Cowboys haven't been to a Super Bowl or even an NFC Championship game. It means if you're 29 years old, the Cowboys haven't sniffed the Super Bowl in your entire lifetime. By the time I was 20, the Cowboys won four Super Bowls during my lifetime. When I picked up that copy of the Dallas Morning News outside the SUB on January 29, 1996, I never thought there would be a 30 year drought thereafter.
And that was Super Bowl XXX
Super Bowl LX is scheduled for February 8, 2026, so Dallas will hit the 30 year mark with no Lombardis during that time.
And by the way, the Cowboys currently have the worst odds of winning the Super Bowl this season,
I get Demarcus Lawrence. At some point, you want to win trophies rather than be some rich man's toy.
The worst part about this whole fiasco is that everything will remain the same until someone - anyone - can get the Jones family to sell the franchise.
