Mike Fisher DMN:
While Dallas was willing to part with a first-rounder this year and a future second-rounder, the Baltimore Ravens stepped way up.
And the Cowboys stepped aside.
The Cowboys on Wednesday night supposedly "thought they were close'' to acquiring Maxx Crosby ... but then other bidders stepped up, causing Dallas to be "expected to shift their focus to Trey Hendrickson.''
All of this - not to mention rumors of the Eagles and Ravens and others wanting to get in on the Maxx thing - had created the impression that Dallas was bowing out and moving on.
That was not so ... until the Ravens caved to the Raiders request and gave up two first-round picks (this year's and 2027's) for the pass-rusher.
"Incredible,'' one NFL source said of the price the Ravens paid here.
The Cowboys, so hungry for additions to a defense that in 2025 was the NFL's worst, are intent on adding two veteran "difference-makers'' in the coming weeks.
