Great game! Last game at the Floyd. We almost didn't make it to the game due to the ice storm.

What a great game and what a great memory! Also, I can't think of a better way to close The Case than beating UT and claiming a Big 12 Title - even if you froze your tail off in the process. I have many great football memories over the years, and that game ranks right up there with the best ones.

Never got cold! Man, Mack had a stable of RB's.

And, after watching the game numerous times, I think he could have won the game if he had stuck with the run more than he did. Glad he did not.

I was very cold at that game. Coldest one I can remember.

I wasn't there but I was in Ft Worth in 2015 for the "monsoon" which was actually a mist. The rain was very light but continual & it was bitter cold. It was a miserable combination.

Obviously this game was much more meaningful for several reasons.

Much of DFW was iced over and I spent several days watching google traffic to figure out which roads were moving and which weren't. I ended up going from Coppell over to Allen and getting a ride with a BU alum that had 4 wheel drive. The game was super cold but I loved the outcome (and the Big12 title).

I didn't attend the game but listened on the radio. Being a local, we waited til halftime then headed to the stadium. Once there, we chickened out on trying to get into the game for the final moments. Sat in the car with the engine and heater running listening on the radio. Glorious!

I saw somewhere that this was the coldest temp Baylor has ever played in, home or away.

Fantastic game and season. Was wrapped up in a gold blanket half frozen but didn't care. A number of my friends left not owning proper winter attire. All the remaining fans went on the field after the game and a player from each decade flipped a light off on the Case to officially close her as a Big 12 champion.

It was also memorable because The Case closed without a tarp!!

It took us 4 hours to get home after the game....a drive that usually takes less than an hour. As I recall I-35 was "moving" at about 15 MPH.

I thoroughly enjoyed it in person and now just thoroughly enjoyed it again.

Great when refs made that chicken **** call to cancel out KJ's pick 6 and we just crammed it down their throat w Glasco.

YES!

That WAS a petty and biased call.

Glasco answered with power!

Definitely a memorable way to close out Floyd Casey! Thank goodness we won! Headed home to Houston after the game and we saw a car slide off the road somewhere on Hwy 6 before College Station. Only time I think I was happy to see College Station and spent the night.

My feet were solid ice. Great times.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

Was there. Bought the 7/8 year old next to me a hot chocolate so he could warm his hands. Going on the field at games end was super. Even for an old timer. Relived the game with my son on 600+ mile drive home the next day. Was I cold? Sure was.

We ended up spending the night at n Hillsborough after spending about 2 1/2 hours in stop and go traffic on 35. 35 was just a sheet of ice.

My father and I spent many great times together at Floyd Casey. I wasn't going to miss this game in his honor. I sat with 5 other season ticket holders. I was the only that went to the game. It was more than just my dad and I, my son was a freshman at Baylor that year.

I left early in the morning and arrived at George's to meet up with a friend. It was packed and everyone was wearing all of their winter clothes. Had a beer and headed out to the stadium. My bench where we sat and concrete for my feet were sheer ice. It was soooo cold, but no one I wasn't leaving.

Not the best game ever but very satisfying to beat UT in the last game with so much on the line. I went on the field after the game and found my son. We hugged and my eyes were wet. I looked up to where my father's season tickets were, where I watched the Miracle on the Brazos. It was just a great moment.

I listened to the speakers and slowly walked out of the stadium knowing it would be the last time. My cherished memories of a different era in Baylor football were behind me. I was glad. I was sad. But I will never forget that game.

I drove home in sheer ice on I35 back to North Dallas. What was normally a 2 hour drive was over 4 hours.

I was living in Upstate NY at the time, but still had season tickets. I had flown down for Homecoming and had this game marked on the calendar to attend. I was originally scheduled to fly to DFW and drive down with friends, but when I arrived at DET, my flight has been cancelled. Instead, I rebooked to IAH, rented a car, and drove up to Waco while listening to the Bears WBB and MBB teams beat Kentucky on the radio.

Made it to Waco just before midnight, drank about 5-6 beers, played some darts, and went to bed. Next morning was the coldest tailgate I'd every been to, but fortunately, living in the frozen hellscape that is Central NY, I was well prepared with winter gear. My feet and hands still froze, but that was definitely one of the most satisfying football experiences I've ever had. Great memories.

Thank you everyone for sharing memories of a great game & Baylor's first Big 12 title. I was unable to attend & watched it in TV but these oral history accounts bring it to life.

If someone had written a book about the closing of FCS, say 15 to 20 years earlier during some of the worst times in Baylor football history, and included what we saw in reality that day and night as the ending, it would have been laughed into the bottom of the fiction section at the library by even the most die-hard Baylor optimist. Very few times in life do you see such a heart-warming, exhilarating, story-book ending as what we saw. It could not have been any better had it been made up in the imagination of a talented writer. The weather just made it more than ever the legend that it has become and deserved.

Exactly.

And thank you for RGIII and McLane Stadium. Without you neither would've happened.
