WOW! Didn't take #4 forty years to enter the Promised Land. Wondering if Northwestern is the first of Nebraska's 10 Plagues this year?ScottS said:

No question losing Texas recruits has hurt both Nebraska and Missouri. I think Nebraska has 5 players on 2022 roster by way of Texas. A far cry from the 15+ or so back in their glory days. Come to think of it their glory days were so last century. How does a once vaunted football program story begin? Once upon a time…Bakersdozen said:
They would be a nice replacement for OU. Reignite rivalries and get Texas kids again but it will NEVER happen.

A couple of points not sure if this is attempting to pick on Nebraska or if serious. If serious it show a lack of understanding of what re alignment is. No one and I mean no one is going to fore go making 75 million a year to make low 40 mil a year. I'm sure they hate losing but the pay day is great.
My next point. It is also a self own toward the XII to imply Nebraska would be winning if in the XII. Hmmm.. no if they played a XII conference schedule, they would not be any better. It is going to take a great team to do well in the XII this year and in the new XII just like it will take a great team to do well in the B10 and the new B10.
Points well taken.PartyBear said:

What if you can get Pitt Louisville and Nebraska? These moves don't happen in a vacuum; there's a lot of moving parts .
That example above doesn't get us SEC money but it's more than 40 million. it's a longshot but there could be combinations to make a school at least kick the tires.

If that big money doesn't create success in competition what's it really worth? Better facilities and the highest paid coaches are supposed to take you somewhere..... but if they don't it doesn't mean much.

If Texas and OU had stayed put, maybe no movement ever occurs. But there was real possibility that Colorado, Arkansas, and Nebraska could've been looking to come back into the fold.Bakersdozen said:

Mizzoos problem wasnt just losing Texas recruits. They were a solid program when they entered the SEC and were set up for success but their program got destroyed by BLM and the spillover from Ferguson impacting their campus. The entire enrollment of the school dropped 30% in the wake of the Ferguson riots and the sit ins on their campus. Pinkel retired due to health reasons but that was probably the excuse to get out when he did. Colorado and Nebraska both had a decline in their program as a result of not having the Texas pipeline, though.CHP Bear said:No question losing Texas recruits has hurt both Nebraska and Missouri. There will be competition within the ranks of the BIG and SEC over time. Teams that consistently lose in either conference and get Bama or OSU money will not last long. At some point, they will probably have a tiered system with a max and a min. Won't happen any time soon.PartyBear said:

Yeah it will never happen
I do t think it's as much a self own as an acknowledging that Nebraska can't recruit Texas…at all anymore.
And as a result they don't have enough California kids to be anywhere close to relevant. And if they were in the 12, they'd be able to recruit Texas and would be a better program. May not win more but would have more talent. They've been tossed aside as a bygone of yesteryear
They've gone the way of aggy. Now this is supposedly aggy year so we shall see.
They of their ten win season in 25 years and zero titles
Correct. Both Texas recruiting and student enrollment went in the tank. 2015 Wasn't a good year. Neither has rebounded. One thing in Mizzou favor is they are in SEC West. 10 from Texas recruits this year compared to approx. 23 seven years ago. In Pinkel's day he'd bag 20 to 25 Texans. What a difference a protest can make.muddybrazos said:Mizzoos problem wasnt just losing Texas recruits. But relevancy is defined as 3 & 9 in the Big 10. lolBearprof said:
Nebraska hasn't been the same since they lost 62-36 to Colorado 21 years ago, and it couldn't have happened to a "nicer" program.

They got worked over by a Northwestern team that was 3-9 last year and was a 13 point underdog. I will be fading Nebraska all year just as I did in week 0.Guy Noir said:
On another note, Nebraska looks like a pretty good team, but they fade in the 4th qtr to pull out a loss.
