Why did he not play Saturday. He was the leading rusher last week?

He had 1 carry I believe. Not sure I understand why we seem to want to use Craig Williams as the between the tackles back. Jones is much better suited for that role.

I have to imagine he was hurt. He had 16 carries the week before and had the highest yards per carry on the team.

I can't imagine he would be limited to one carry without an injury.

He looked like he was banged up during the BYU game. Maybe he was just getting some rest.

A heavy dose of Jones and Reese with some Sqwirl sprinkled in seems like it would be effective

Our rushing game yesterday vs the Bobcats was pretty good.

It's not just better suited. Running a 170lb speed back between the tackles is going full ******. Anybody will tell you that doesn't work, and Squirl has 0 success doing it. Utilize him on the outside please.

He has shown he can do it. He is injury prone, but his TD run was a thing of beauty. Off tackle and then just followed the blocks. No one else on this team can do it.

McWilliams is missing too many holes and not moving the pile. Reese is a nice find but he doesn't move the pile.

Jones is doing his best to become that kind of runner but he was dinged up this past weekend.

Hoping it was at least in part precautionary that most or all of the key players that didn't play last Saturday - meaning if it wasn't a game against a cupcake non opponent they would've played.

Most likely injury or tweak, but it also feels like this coaching staff is looking to find an identity and exploring all options, more so than I've seen any other season. It's unfortunate we played BYU at their house, that was an insanely tough environment for a team still looking to get its feet under them. I think once we get settled in to a clear identity with the correct pieces we'll be pretty good.
