Does the contract allow for expansion or is anyone who should have applied locked out for 6 years?

Where is Abercrombie82 who was saying as recently as a week or two ago the XII would not get a deal any better than the PAC remnant.

BTW I suspect Fox and ESPN cut this deal 2 years early with the XII so they can consolidate some PAC inventory they want on network into the XII and just pay everyone through the XII.

Is the PAC deal done? If so, I missed the update. Regardless and as I mentioned elsewhere, it's unlikely that the this deal will be so much more than what the PAC gets to the point where PAC teams will bail for the Big 12.

Nevertheless, $31.6M per team is great news all around.

No the PAC doesnt have a deal which is really the point. They have been negotiating for months and are under the gun for a deal. I suspect they aren't going to get a deal or not a deal they can realistically accept. It was the networks who reached out to the XII and said "hey do y'all want to go ahead and start talking about a new deal early?"

I just don't understand why the guy is such a PAC cheerleader?????? I would say he is a UT troll rooting for the XII to die, but he has been around for over 5 years. I guess another one who didn't like Rhoades getting hired or is another of the ones who believes the BOR got it right in 2015?????

As a KU fan here with my friends I think this really is about as good as it gets . It establishes stability for the Conference , don't have to worry about imploding , I think it pretty well puts to bed this clown of a Commish from the PAC 1's talk about what THEY THE PAC 12 was going to do about possibly members from the BIG 12 joining the PAC 12.. Their Conference is in serious trouble, as I fully believe with this your going to see PAC 12 Schools bailing.

If the BIG when it's all said and done DOES take Oregon & Washington then you for sure I believe will see Arizona & Arizona State for sure jump ship and try to be added to the Big 12. - -You may see them Bail makes us the 3rd mega conference with 16 teams if in the end Utah and Colorado also come aboard.

Good that it has a clause were if expansion happens the pay out per schools increases. Guys I think we are going to see expansion. I've been telling my KU friends that KU isn't going anywhere They seem to think we are going to be ask to joining the BIG - -I have told them KU IS NOT GOING TO THE BIG. -- we just don't bring enough to the table.

I for one think this is a good thing for the Conference - -AND for KU - -Let's do this - - -Get-Er-Done lol

My point is that there is no reason to troll the PAC until their deal is done because we don't know what it will look like, as there could be surprises in the same way that the Big 12 deal was a surprise.

As I mentioned forever ago, the B1G leaving Oregon and Washington in the PAC was the worst case scenario for the Big 12 as doing so would leave the PAC as a viable conference (even if Stanford or CAL is more valuable to media partners) and thus impede the Big 12's efforts to raid teams from that league in order to form a league with a wider footprint.

"Should surpass the previous $40m"

What is this guy, a PAC apologist with news like that? Like baylor hasn't won in Lubbock since 1990 type reporting there. Baylor's also never won in Tuscaloosa and hasn't beaten iowa state in baseball since 1998 or some such

Geez....Brett has done more in less than a year that dumbbutt did his entire time leading the B12.... I can't see how the Pac 12 survives.....

Is there even a downside to this all???

Man…..what a great weekend. Huge road win last night and now this great news about some financial stability for our new conference going forward.

Let Aggy and the Horns keep all the 5* prima donnas and all their future Ls in the SEC. So happy how all of this has played out for us.

I'm sure it helped finally having a Commish that wasn't beholden to only 2 of the 8 teams.

Trolling the PAC? I'm on a Baylor board to my knowledge there aren't pro PAC folks here unless that was an admission. Look if the PAC isn't given any viable offers which to date has not occurred, I suspect applications for XII membership will be arriving in Yourmark's email.

If they sign their Tier 1 & Tier 2 rights away to streaming platforms (amazon and/or apple), it's Dead in the water.

And this is coming from someone who prefers streaming. Goodluck getting any market/coverage that still watches from TV or at sports bars/restaurants.

In fairness to Bowlsby, he likely kept the league intact when ESPN was actively trying to kill it and fold it into its other properties.

He had his flaws, certainly, but his actions after the OUT fiasco likely saved the remaining members' place in major college football.
