That's one of the inherent definitions or characteristics of a blue blood... they may not have done anything recently but the perceptions persists.
And the timeline is usually determined by those people who grew up in the 60s 70s and 80s like me.
So for me..Nebraska Notre Dame USC and Texas are blue bloods.
Army Colgate and Yale are not.
