Good for him. I was pretty certain it wouldn't be us, so I'm not disappointed. I'm just glad he didn't choose to waste his career in College Station.

This is reminiscent of when aggies lost Kenny Hill and Kyler Murray

As a Baylor letter winner and with what you're seeing, if your son has DJs skill, would you recommend Baylor?

I wouldn't. Not because I don't love Baylor. I'd be looking for QB coaching that improves my kid.

If I had a 17-year-old son, I would absolutely tell them to get paid right now. You never know when your career is going to end because of an injury. Seth Russell comes to mind. There are worse things than graduating college with a free degree and 6-7 figures in the bank. yes, getting playing time earlier is important for an NFL career, but if you have the raw skills, the NFL will take you. The Florida quarterback comes to mind.

Most highly recruited quarterbacks are looking for a situation in which their skills are going to go next level
That's not us right now
We've seen quarterbacks regress

Unfortunate, but not entirely untrue.

I think Oregon just lost a QB commit to UCLA. Not sure if that was connected to Bo Nix announcing he was coming back for his 18th season.

Oregon is a long way from home....hopefully that factors in our favor.

Also....I would think here he could feel like he has some shot to unseat Shapen next year. That won't be the case with Nix at Ore.

For an in-home visit to occur, there has to be mutual interest. No way to spin it. This guy is having second thoughts at the last minute while the coaches are waiting at the altar, so to speak

The headline next year will be him transferring back to Ole Miss.
