I did not hit play but there was a clip from the CU spring game, from the still shot it appeared the crowd looked about like one of those UCLA game day shots that folks were posting last fall. Meaning hardly anyone there.

Rhule had almost twice as many at his first Husker spring game than any of his real games at Baylor.

how boring is your life that you would spend any amount if it at a spring football game

My thoughts as well. Never had any interest in actually attending a spring game.....excuse me, a glorified practice.

Yeah… nine of those schools have at least one NC. Unless it's a home game with UT, OU or similar opponents Baylor people don't show up. Even with the likes of those it's always an "announced attendance", holes everywhere in the stadium. Why would anyone expect a turn out at a spring game? Granted, we've only had 4-5 years out of 65+ that were noteworthy, so there's that. We're just the wrong school, conference, fan base hampered by the wrong religion.

Some people just love college football. Now say it with me"Baylor fan base is boring and sucks." There don't you feel better. Get out and travel to other schools you will see our fan base is literally like going to church

Too many insecure people scared to act a fool
In front of others (or busy hiding their Budweisers)

tailgated from 730am to noon then watched the 2 hour scrimmage, had a blast celebrating every big play/hit, then hung out for a few more hours post game tailgating. Was a great time seeing friends & supporting the team.

So it's a glorified practice? I like getting a first-hand look at the flyers myself.

The Football schools sell out most games. Spring games are free. A lot of fans cannot afford to see a game in the Fall so they take their family to the Spring game. Those big stadiums give fans in attendance a real game day experience with announcers, loud music, half time show, etc.

A glorified practice: Maybe, but some fans would love to see a practice. Alabama has multi-million dollar condos near the practice field just so they can get an occasional peak of a practice.

When our team can only get 6500 fans it's easier to attack the true fan bases of the programs we hate to see win every Saturday in the Fall. It's easy to say "are their fans so bored they have to watch a Spring game" all while being so bored to type a jealous insult...

I look forward to a Baylor Spring Game Sellout.

I don't fault people for attending a spring game. They're often free and if you've got nothing to else going on it's a couple hours of football and maybe seeing some of the young guys play. I went to a Vandy spring game once and brushed shoulders with Aaron Rodgers who was watching his little brother.

I love Baylor but we could use a more consistent fan base. The early September games can be tough. Students often pack under the awning and into the concourse for shade and older season ticket holders can't sit for 4 hours in 100+ degree heat. That being said older fans should be able to sell their tickets without a problem to a fellow fan and students sometimes don't bring the passion when the weather is good.

Top it off some of the alumni sit there like it's church. You don't have to be drunk to yell. It isn't a sin to make noise on 3rd down. As a student I definitely went to some games where I'm sweating my ass off getting loud with all my friends and the alumni side is seated like Tiger Woods is about to tee off at the Masters.

Every school on that list is a large state school. No private schools there. It makes a difference.

well we aren't expecting to have more people than what our stadium can seat. But no excuse to have only a couple thousand there last week. That's not because we are a small private uni. It's cuz our fans lack the passion to show up. We don't fill our games during the season so guess we shouldn't expect to fill it for a spring game. But that needs to change. Change the culture & become what we can become!

a huge part of helping your team win at home includes a hostile home field advantage. Fans need to show up and help the team

Also tons of programs have not won **** in years and have great spring game attendance. It's about want to

Agreed about fans not showing up to games. I can't get better season tickets and those people that have them never show up unless we play UT or OU

BU is famous for the "announced attendance". I understand your statement highlighted in bold print, BUT schools like TX, OU, aggy, AL, GA, etc, etc their fan bases are faced with exactly the same issues and their stadiums are full. I just don't buy that argument. Look across the Nation, pick any big school and its pretty much the same... larger # of people, same heat, students, OLD people, etc. Face it, I've witnessed it for sixty-five plus years, it's a Baylor thing. Winning, yeah winning matters; however, BU has/had winning programs in BB as of late and I'll be willing to bet the new 7,500 capacity arena will have sparse attendance more so than not. Hoping not, but history may prove it out. Sadly, it can be argued, I have no doubt it plays a roll in recruiting as well to a degree.
