Well that's a punch in the gut. Carlton was more than fair in his Baylor pieces and was a very good sportswriter. I looked forward to his articles and Tweets. He and his writing will be greatly missed. RIP.

Totally agree with 8084. Always fair to the Bears and a very good read. RIP

Really hate to see this. He was one of the best. The only two sportswriters I was ever impressed with, trusted, and was sure they knew what they were talking about were Chuck and Blackie Sherrod. The obit said this was going to be his last coverage. Really sad this happened on the road. He will be missed.

Battled prostate cancer and heart failure the last few years.. suffered two heart attacks recently..fell I'll in Minnesota Friday night covering the Stars-Wild playoff game and died yesterday.
