“It was a great trip,” Reed said following his official visit. “Definitely felt the love and family orientation. Definitely can see myself playing at Baylor! Coaches were great you can feel the love even from the offensive side.”
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound prospect had a final three of Oklahoma State, Utah and Baylor. He took official visits to each before making a commitment decision but ultimately one thing separated Baylor from the rest.
“Person over player,” he said.
His relationship with Christian Robinson, Dave Aranda, and the rest of the staff was also a key factor.
“Coach Christian Robinson’s message was always about building relationships and being with the right people because all days aren’t going to be good so you need someone willing to go in the dark with you,” he said.
Reed had a breakout sophomore season as he posted 48 tackles, 12 for loss, seven sacks, 11 pass breakups, and four forced fumbles. As a junior he dealt with injuries but is back to full strength.
The four-star prospect held 13 total offers from Kansas, Illinois, UTSA, Oklahoma State, Utah, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Texas State, North Texas and UAB.
