Baylor Defensive End Jackie Marshall Set to Miss the Entire 2023 Season
Baylor redshirt sophomore Jackie Marshall will miss the entire 2023 season after sustaining a torn ACL during the spring. Baylor Head Coach Dave Aranda confirmed this on Saturday night.
Marshall was expected to be the primary backup for TJ Franklin at the field end position and play a major rotational role for the defensive line. That role will now be occupied by Maine grad transfer Justin Sambu and true freshman Trey Wilson.
The 6-foot-3, 265-pound prospect totaled 22 tackles, two for loss, a forced fumble, three pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries during the 2022 season after redshirting in 2021.
Marshall was a four-star prospect in the 2021 class after posting 70 tackles, 24 for loss, and 13.5 sacks.
He will look to return for the 2024 season.
