Damn .can people stop with the Mack must go? We don't know yet if Aranda is a mistake..but if he is and can't turn this around... doesn't Mack at least get a chance to rectify it?

I'd hate to work under some of you guys.

Don't take any of it seriously - it's just posturing and virtue signaling that has no meaningful impact on the program.

No one takes your posts seriously.

Floyd wasn't 19' so that makes no sense.

Her roster next year if healthy and cleared does seem more talented than Ftballs roster though

Without better NIL from Baylor, none of these coaches will bring significantly improved results.

Instead of paying the buyout of $40M, do these 2 things...

1)remove Grimes and get a new OC
2)put the $40m into NIL (either through recruitment or through the portal)

Elko at Duke what he has and is doing there is incredible. He's got a darn good squad this year
As someone who lives in Duke's backyard, I'll tell you that what Elko has done there is miraculous. The year before he came, Duke won 3 games. Last year, he won 9 games. They played incredibly physical. They matched athleticism with Clemson (granted, Clemson has dropped a lot in talent) and punched them in the mouth.

His OC was Mike Norvell's OC at Memphis. The defense is the scheme Elko ran at A&M.

I'll be shocked if Elko is still at Duke after this year.

I think the best D that a&m has had in years was when Elko was the dc

He also had Wake Forest playing respectable defense. Perhaps his most attractive quality to Baylor is most of his success has come at private institutions. Fordham, Hofstra, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, and Duke. He took the Duke job when he probably could've waited for a more attractive job. Aside from A&M and a couple Midwest stops he's been all on East coast.

That still isn't the core issue. Throwing $$$$ around is. That's right. Never.

I think we're screwed with Aranda. we do need three things: 1) a joey McGuire-type hype assistant. 2) a new offensive identity 3) new uniform and branding scheme, this **** is atrocious. We have white helmets - even white-green-white would inject some energy
Bear3

Yes money is the issue in the current environment !!! We are NOT getting 4 star or 5 star recruits and some top 3 stars without strong NIL, regardless of who we bring in as head coach. A coach can certain develop some 3 star players but you are not going to win championships with a roster of 3 stars…

Uniforms are not the issue. They are not the reason we lose games!

I do not understand how so many Baylor fans are fashionistas obsessing over something so trivial.

Former D3 coaches are doing well in D1... If they can rebuild for the long term and stay at Baylor for the long-term, I would appreciate this route...

Very well said. These three, along with Nil are the main issues. Dave is an issue too, but if we're setting that to the side for now he can't succeed without a very energetic assistant.

Maybe at Kinne to the list. He will be interesting to watch.

Baylor couldn't afford his I hate you price.

Kinne's dad was a star at Baylor. Unless you know something I don't, methinks he would jump at the chance to be here.
He jilted us in recruiting to go sit on the bench at UT and then transfer to Tulsa. I think I remember that he had some choice words about his decommit too. Which, yes, was weird considering his dad was a All SWC player at Baylor and on the Baylor staff at the time. But pretty typical Morriss fail, so ...

He didnt say the branding causes us to lose games on the field. He said the branding is terrible and it is. You had former football players and Jeremy Sochan talking about how bad the unis, the current version of gold and branding are on social media on Saturday. I think things are reaching a threshold where everyone is willing to come out with their criticisms of BU athletics and let their opinions be known on a wide variety of things involving BU athletics. Instead of politely remaining silent about Baylor's decisions regarding athletics. It is very reminiscent of the 02 time period.

By law, Baylor is prohibited from distributing NIL money.

I realize others are breaking the law (like aggy) but we are not.

I do agree we need to be more involved in finding a legal way to get much more NIL money

If the Supreme Court actually opened the door for schools to pay players out of revenues. Then what is wrong with doing that? It doesnt have to be called NIL.

Well said. When things start going south every little issue goes under a microscope. Branding matters. Not number 1 but players and fans want fun hype videos and music and cool unis. They assist in generating momentum and interest.

I may change my mind at end of season, but I'm thinking Chadwell or Cignetti.

Fact is, they win everywhere they go. And I'm not talking 7-8 wins, I'm talking conference championships.

Traylor. Has done great things at UTSA and has great connections in Texas.

I will say that is something that gets overlooked. Let's face it, Baylor is a regional recruiting school. Having connections in Texas, OK, and LA is where BU can legitimately attract talent.

utsa is 1-3 so far this year. traylor is running into the same problems that every coach runs into.

-Loss of key players to graduation and / or nfl
-Loss of assistants to other programs

traylor is also 0-3 in bowl games. Not a huge deal, but a chip off the armor for sure.

A lot of you don't seem to understand how NIL works. The schools don't/can't fund or facilitate it.

BU boosters need to set up NIL with big money Alumni. Does BU have a Phil Knight? Besides, McLane? Or are they tapped out.

We need Joanna... She has more of a following than Baylor...

I am pretty sure at every P4 school the school's finger prints are all over the NIL apparatus. Including Baylor now.

It looks like Baylor has said lets have BMDs build us nice facilities and expand the facilities every few years and lets let the regular joe fans fund the NIL through small donations. If it is as appears, Baylor might want to hold back on nice expansions to nice already new facilities and worry about BMDs getting money to the NIL apparatus. Expand facilities in the future off the back of future football success just like we did with the stadium etc.
