By 2021 he was no longer at Texas. Both were great Baylor wins.

not sure if Eric Morris has come up in this thread....but he might be one to keep an eye on. This is his second year taking over for Seth Littrell at UNT and they've had a good start to their year.

He's coached at several different colleges in Texas in his career so he has Texas connections. Incarnate had a 10-3 overall record and 7-1 in conference his final year there in 2021.

North Texas coach Eric Morris discovered Cam Ward, coordinated Patrick Mahomes and coached five FBS starters in 2024.

UNT's game was picked up for a national broadcast in part because of what's on the line in the AAC title chase. The Mean Green (5-2) took preseason favorite Memphis to the wire last week. It wasn't until Chandler Morris' pass into the end zone was intercepted on the final play that Memphis closed out a 52-44 win and dropped UNT to 2-1 in conference play.

Rich Rod has Jax state playing good ball and theyre a solid team. Liberty seems softer than last year. They probably lost some playmakers off of last years squad.

GJ Kinne will be available for HC for only a couple hundred K more than Spav's coordinator pay.

It'll take at least $4M to pluck away Morris which will feel like a lot after CDA and Spav buyouts. GJ will move for $2.5M while his stock is pretty much neutral right now.

The good thing is the Baylor job no longer looks as undesirable as it did last season. The list of people willing to say yes to the he job has vastly increased and it will no longer take $6M+ to get someone to assume the risk of tainting their resume.

Sumrall at Tulane is legit. I wouldnt be surprised to see him get a good job in the next year or two.

What makes you feel it was undesirable last year and vastly improved this year?

I personally don't think the job was undesirable last year. If we had canned Aranda we could have hired any number of guys on the OPs list.

As far as this year goes, I don't see how being 4-4 at the moment makes this job vastly more desirable?

8-4 or 9-4 will look much better all around.
If we can get there. With the momentum we now have, some believe it is possible.

if baylor wins tomorrow, dave's seat will cool down tremendously

Dave is the highest paid defensive coordinator in CFB. Is Mack the headcoach now?
