We got good, and we will find a table watch. Now we are bad, and we are boring.

I think there are a lot of people that may not totally have stayed away after the Briles debacle, but that are much more "show me the money" with Baylor football now, rather than just being fiercely loyal.

Every time this comes up, I think it makes me realize that I don't even know what the term "fan experience" even means.

I can't say my experience at any Baylor football game in the past 30 years has been remarkably different from any other pro or college game I've ever been to. Maybe the exception is attending an A&M home game where the cult chants in unison with their class.

I mean - I'm there to watch the GAME I drink alcohol in my daily life, but rarely at a live sporting event. I don't care about the food or drink or which decade of music is playing, and I generally notice that people who aren't there to watch the game don't enjoy it as much (regardless of the food or drink or which decade of music is playing).

If you are going to a sporting event expecting a concert with all the things that go with it, you should probably just go to a concert.

Ah well, times change. I'm sure that whatever gets added to the "fan experience" will be something else I tune out waiting for the next play to start.

Edit - A big part of that article seems to be about black uniforms. I don't understand why wearing black is desirable I don't dislike black uniforms, but they are neither positive nor negative IMO. I also think that our school has NOT exited the scandal fully, and what many people still think of when they think of Baylor is the sexual abuse scandal. (The SMU scandal happened 40 years ago and it is still one of the first things mentioned for the Mustangs).

Like it or not we still need to be on our best behavior and will come under scrutiny when and if someone decides that our "football culture" is loose or somehow considers itself "above the rules." Best not to draw unwanted attention, and if not wearing black somehow helps us then I'll fall in line.

We appreciate your input Ms. livingstone.

LOL - thanks for reading my post. As a busy college president, I appreciate your attention.

Laugh if you want, but the thing that is going to relegate Baylor to the Sun Belt is NOT losing to Texas St. It is having another scandal that threatens conference membership and our accreditation.

That's not true at Virginia tech or Nebraska or West Virginia or.....

There are plenty examples of ****ty, boring…

Brooooo, it's true of the Houston Astros and they're defending f'n champs. *** else is there to do in Nebraska or West Virginia!?!? Give me a break you jamoke.

Whats your point broooo? Purdue packed the house tonight and they look super mediocre. W Lafayette is similarly situated to metro areas like Waco. Doesn't seem to matter to them.

Iowa State historically has been a perennial bottom dweller and they pack the house consistently.

Washington State does really well with support and a very average product annually.

Do you need me to keep going?

LOL! You do realize that each of the universities you reference have student populations well in excess of 30k….right?

That's because most of them are bigger fans of briles than Baylor

I for one pledged and have lived up to my promise to not give another dollar to Baylor until those responsible for making Briles the sacrificial lamb were held responsible. No season tickets for me and not a dollar spent since.

Fire Livingston, fire Rhodes. I hate and have always hated Baylor's bible church administration.

Exhibit A of what? A corrupt administration that purposely imploded our program to cover their own asses? I'm no huge fan of Briles but how the administration handled the crisis is textbook of what NOT to do. I will not support that with my hard earned dollars.

I can respect this. It seems like the university's reputation will be stained one way or another until this part of the story is resolved.

Then maybe leadership should have handled the media created "scandal" a bit differently. I'll show you a dozen programs who have had worse scandals and gave the media the middle finger and handled the situation internally. Our BOR and senior leadership made the decision to just implode the entire program, this is where we're now at.

With regard to 'game day experience", let me tell you folks about mine. I paid 200 bucks to sit in the end zone almost completely surrounded by Texas fans. Directly behind me was a group of juvenile Texas fans who screamed in my ears nonstop for 4 hours. In front of me was an entire row of 400 pound sweat hogs wearing orange shirts who proceeded to stand up the entire game. If I really stretched my neck or peeped between their fat a,,,,es I was able to catch glimpses of the game on the tv screen on the other end. And of course, on top of all of that, I had to witness the performance by our team on the field. I have been going to Baylor Games for 50+ years and this was by far and away the worst 'game day experience" I have personally had.

See you folks at the next home game.
