I've heard from several friends of mine that are Texas grads that there is a narrative being advanced amongst their jock sniffers that this final meeting in this long rivalry might feature some unfair officiating in favor of the Bears. How paranoid is that? It's embarrassing is what it is. Are you kidding me? Have they seen Baylor play yet? They're 2 touchdown plus favorites and ranked number 3 in the country and they're worried about officiating? They should be ashamed of themselves if it's true. Maybe they should go find their safe space.

I hope their fears turn out to be true.

That would be the first time in 113 years we had the refs on our side against the whorns.

That's classic projecting. UT is notorious for preferential officiating

Hope we win. Love the green and gold.

And 100% I've never seen more consistently biased Big12 officiating than against the Horns. Win, lose, whatever, there will absolutely be calls in favor of BU that will make Texas fans' heads 'splode. Big12 refs hate Texas and have since I've been olde enough to know what football is. That will never change.

So yeah, your friends are right. Go back and look at the Bama game last year. It's a pattern.

I hope we win. I'll be there cheering. I'll happily take any advantage we can get. And the officials will hand some yards to us that you won't be able to explain. Take the gift. Beat Texas.

Textbook crown-to-crown targeting on Seth Russell in Austin sums it all up for me.

Field crew ruled targeting. Replay crew in booth (before creation of Command Center in Irving) agreed and was about to radio down the confirmation to the field crew. Then, the cell phone call came in from the Big 12 Office, "We don't want that to be targeting.". Account of this came directly to me from someone who was in the booth and witnessed the actual phone call. Call on field was reversed.

If I didn't know the person extremely well, I would have never believed that it played out this way. No way. But, it did.

There's your bias, Texas Boards. Think you'll get the same treatment in the SEC?

That's a game that lives in infamy. Very winnable.

If the Big 12 has ever had any consistently biased officiating, and I'm not saying that it's true, it's always been in favor of Texas.

I remember the 2016 game in Austin & a Texas defender launching at Seth Russell in a textbook case of targeting. It was blatant & the ESPN announcers agreed. After a very lengthy review, the officials declared emphatically that it was NOT targeting. My joke that they had enough time to check their Swiss bank accounts seemed too real.

Do they play in Ames this year? That's who they should be worried about.

The refs have screwed the Whirlybirds numerous times vs UT

Anyone else recall a bang-bang play at first base when the Texas batter was called out, then Augie comes out and argues about it, and they pulled the kid back out of the dugout and put him back on first? Lol.

I'd literally never seen that before.

A whorn who I used to work with said this exactly in a phone call yesterday. "As long as the refs dont screw us (ut) we should be fine". So yeah, its out there.

Already deflecting in case of a prime time loss. What a tool. Actually in that same call he told me he had been let go last week due to a down economy. So... thats going on out there too.

I give baylor less than a half % chance of winning and expect an embarrassing loss, or at the very least if they play down to our level we will still find a way to escort them to a W in q4. The ride home from McLane is going to suck so probably need to bust a cigar and scotch tomorrow night.

Texas fans without question are the biggest snowflakes in college football. From their whining about "horns down" to their homo-fascist board admins ...

It's Texas. Of course it's believable.

Just one reason all of the Big 12 is eager to be rid of them. Honestly, my dream is that somehow we win tomorrow & Kansas wins next week, & the rest of the conference beats them as well. It would be wonderful if they ended their last year in the conference 0-9 or 1-8 (I don't care who wins the RRR). I know it's more likely that they win all or most of the conference slate & win in Arlington too. I can dream.

That's because Baylor beats them enough to make them worried, 6-7 record the last 13, incl the last 2 in Waco.

Well TCU has a much better W/L record against UT recently then we do and they only get 7% of the vote. We get 65%. The closest "hate" by Surly fans is Tech a distant 25% lol.

Teaff beat UT regularly to so Baylor has been a big thorn in the horns for a long time, TCU hasn't.

If you look at the series history as a whole, the Texas Longhorns have dominated TCU, leading the series 64-27-1. However, since joining the Big 12, the rivalry has been all TCU, with the Frogs winning 7 of 10 matchups.Nov 7, 2022

Just sayin TCU should be higher on their hate list if this was about football.

The reason they hate BU the most is really simple.

In the last 10 years, Texas has zero football titles and zero regular season hoops titles.

Meanwhile, the little school 100 miles to the North has 3 conference football championships and 4 major bowl games. In hoops, a National Championship and two conference championships.

If you're big bad UT, that has to drive you bat**** crazy.

And as reminder, they haven't been able to compete with BU on a somewhat level playing field. But now that they can outright buy players, they're finally "back".
All that money they had to spend on coaches and facilities and they still underperformed. But now their wet dreams have finally come to fruition, buying players as easily as their coaches spend money on strippers and hookers.

What rock have you been living under? TU has made a living off of receiving gift calls from officials. I can share several videos confirming this fact if you'd like.
