Well we had a 4th and 5 we could have also ran another play before letting Texas score again.

I wouldn't have minded them going for it there compared to the tetardedness of 4th down last year. It was only chance to not be down 21-3

I think Shapen's return will infuse some energy temporarily. But that will have a short shelf life if we don't experience some success quickly.

From speaking with someone in the know - my understanding is that the reason for the low turnover from our program into the portal is because Dave has created a very happy, kumbaya kind of program where there are no real expectations for on the field performance. ie everyone knows their spot is eternally secure, put your four or five years in, get your degree and move on.

I'm not sure how long Shapen will last either. While not many Big 12 D lines are as good as UT's, our offensive line is truly putrid enough that Shapen will be in position to get dinged again.

Player retention is a good thing ... if you're developing your talent. We're not.

No, there are expectations for success at LSU. Also, I think Dave is at his best when he can just focus on the defense and not have to worry about the team holistically. Basically the Peter principle
