I know he's short, but so is Bryce Young. I saw that he's going to Sam Houston St. What is the knock on him?

I'm interested because my Willis Wildkats would meet them in the 3rd round. DJ Lagway versus DJ Bailey. I went and watched a few of their games. He looked awesome and wanted to see what lucky School got him. Surprised to so no D1 offers.

He's playing against Significant D1 talent and future NFL players weekly. I've not seen him play but that's the resume to start with.

You have to recruit winners and he is doing it at the highest level. Looks at Kyler Murray

To be entirely fair, if this kid committed to Baylor you would probably say even worse things about Baylor's QB recruiting given that he only has one FBS offer - Sam Houston.

I'm all for calling out people that insult others for no reason, but I wasn't aware that anything I said was offensive and/or objectively unreasonable given your historical stances on QB recruiting.

Im curious to see what happens in the next few weeks. There is a 0% chance that Grimes is still here next year IMO. I hope Aranda isnt either but if he is the new coordinator MUST run the type of offense our TX high schools are running. No more RVO bs. Briles made a killing out of developing kids who weren't high profile qb recuits.Even Charlie Brewer wasn't a huge prospect. Now, I don't trust Aranda to find those guys but maybe the new OC will be given a real chance to change things. We have to find diamonds in the rough. Give me a winner like Bailey anyday of the week

It won't matter if RG3 suits up again, nobody is going to win in our current offense. Grimes has to go before it matters who we recruit.

Agreed. Maybe character or grade issues? If all of the programs that matter universally agree that he's a no go, there must be something going on that isn't public.

Size? I will not assume character without proof. Not fair to him.

Some guys just know how to play football and win. Baker Mayfield and Charlie Brewer were both overlooked.

Pretty sure Lake Travis was really highly ranked when they played their too. Some coaches just see recruitng stars

woah woah woah cool it on the Sam Houston slander. We're struggling in our first year in the FBS bc we still have an FCS caliber QB and o-line. But DJ Bailey is gonna change that. He might start as a true freshman next year if he makes it down here. He's legit.

It's happening. Willis vs DeSoto. DJ vs DJ. Friday night at 7 at Alamo Dome. Willis has the fire power on offense to make it a game.

Michael Bishop's cousin's son, Jermaine Bishop Jr for Willis might be the best athlete on the field. He's only 15. He scored 5 of 6 touchdowns last week in the 2nd round.

If you're in San Antonio and have some time, go watch this game.

He did get rung pretty good last week. I'm glad to see he's not getting trotted out there for a start at this point. Not worth it. No point in risking any player's health this week.

It was a 17-17 game and DeSeoto realized they could just up tempo and run the ball down Willis' throat. DJ Lagway was running for his life most the 2nd half.

As for Bailey, he throws and absolutely beautiful ball. Physically, he's built like a running back and almost looks pudgy. Big legs. I'd still offer the kid.

Not all short QBs are the same. Typically, you'd prefer height. We have to ask ourselves, do we want a QB that is succeeding against the best Texas competition or a small California Christian school QB?

I was there and honestly he looks pretty short. You wouldn't guess he played quarterback if you just look at him. But can't deny his ability at the high school level. It seems like someone could take a flyer on him. He's not going to be playing in the NFL and he wouldn't be a portal threat. He seems to have enough quickness to make people miss and throws an amazing football.

It's hard for me to believe that DJ Lagway could go anywhere he wants and this kid can't get more than a Sam offer. Not a knock on Lagway. He's been a monster this year and deserves his 5 stars

Scouts know better than me. It will be interesting to see how he performs at Sam.

Throw some money at Malik Murphy.
Give the new OC a chance to build around him.

Hire George Cooper as OC and let's see. I hear he's available, LOL.

That's not a bad idea. That kid is built like an NFL tight end. And he had opportunities to transfer last year. Between Arch and Ewers there's not a lot of room for him in Austin. I'm sure he knows that.
