I was half joking. Despite what people think & some glaring mistakes, the Aggies are not stupid. They will hire someone who they think will win games. They will probably learn from the Jimbo fiasco.

Is he really a top level DC? I've not seen any evidence to support that claim.

It's on film. Anyone who interviews him any in the future will review his body of work. He will never be a head coach at any collegiate level after he leaves Baylor. Whenever that may be.

In the last 73 years, only one Baylor HC has gone on to become a P5 HC again. Matt Rhule at Nebraska.

He has a long career ahead of him as a HC, P5 for a while and then when we get relegated to Sun Belt he will get G5 experience. Dave is doing just fine, nothing he does matters as long as he had a nice demeanor and weeds out any FB player with a near normal Testosterone level...

LSU's defense was one of the best in the nation. Since he left, their defense has gone to **** despite still having 4 and 5 star talent.

He can't recruit or identify talent. LSU GAVE him the players and he coached them. Just like Rhule GAVE him the players and he coached them.

Give Dave the Players, he can coach. Just like a 100 DCs across the Nation.

LSU defense was Ranked #31 in 2019. Won a natty thanks to Joe Burrow. But he's a defensive genius. Stop it.

He is a competent DC, nothing more.

From what I can see, the pay comes with the school and often that is who gets the head job and their network. There are some damn good Coordinators in D2 and G5 that don't get the shot. As much as the talking heads want you to believe it is all merit, the network from the Coaching Tree you are in matters and will give opportunities that others won't get. There has to be a "in" for a guy to get a shot.

2022- no bowl with 5-7 record.
