Feel like he has proven he can win with fewer resources than most. Might be a good fit.

He's been the guy I'm hoping for since it became obvious Dave wasn't gonna work. Firm believer Chadwell is winner regardless of where he's coaching

I like him but I think another school is gonna pick him up first

Yes, but don't get your hopes up. Liberty pays him basically what we are currently paying Dave. They have a lot of money. So he can sit pretty and bide his time while collecting a fat paycheck, have a couple good seasons, and then go back to the Carolinas to either the ACC or SEC

Chadwell is obviously a very good coach, but I think Traylor or Fritz would be more natural cultural and geographic fits.

Chadwell's brashness wouldn't play as well here as it does at the places he's been -- and is likely to go in the future.

And while I know a lot of people think those types of considerations are stupid, they have to be taken into account. I think fit sinks more up-and-coming coaches than competency does.

He would be a great fit and a success here.

The better way to say this is that the decision-makers at Baylor have a very specific type in mind in terms of mentality and what they would call "character". Basically, if you act like Phil Bennett did with the temper and red faced yelling, it's an instant no go. If you don't have some vague semblance of a Christian "testimony", it's a no go. If you don't talk about your faith enough in the interview, I can promise you that it's, you guessed it, a no go. Fritz and Chadwell better be devout evangelicals or at least be good at faking it, or it's a no go.

This exactly correct!! We can form a list a mile long and 99% would never come close to passing Baylor's litmus test. I would imagine even before an interview the candidate would be required to provide a urine sample, blood sample, and hair sample. That is not to mention a FBI level background check. Once in the interview, I would bet 85% of the questions revolve around their faith and background.

We need brashness. Too much coddling already.

It's not about internal discipline/toughness. We had both in spades under Matt Rhule, who could be trusted not to say something in public or to the media that would bring unnecessary scrutiny or criticism on the university. I would worry about that more with Chadwell than I would with Traylor or Fritz, who would both build tough/disciplined teams at Baylor.

Matters not since Aranda isn't going anywhere.

Traylor and Fritz are woke and are person over player, too?

As mentioned earlier in this thread, Chadwell makes more than Aranda if the Baylor tax records are accurate - $3M v $4M - so it's not clear either why he would come here or why Baylor, with it's financial constraints, would/could pay him significantly more than he's currently making.

Chadwell is on the list

Unfortunately, it feels like Aranda is coming back for 2024 and I am sure at least 1 or 2 of the guys on that list won't be available next year..
