Doesn't suck for Aranda. He will be a very rich man the rest of his life if he has a decent money manager. He will eventually (only at Baylor will we ask how long??) be dismissed from a HC position and he will be thrilled to move away from the pressure.

He will make many millions as a DC after Baylor (see Kevin Steele).

How many of us can post that on our resume?

Seems like 80% of the preseason predictions here on 365 last summer said we would win 9 or 10 games because of our 8 home games.

We end up winning 1 of the 8 and it was against a FCS school.

That alone is grounds for terminating the entire staff.

The players who enter better be darned sure they're a clear improvement over whatever other large p4 high paying schools have. One in hand worth 2 in the bush re the portal. Who do we have that's such a clear stud as to surrender their scholarship and nil deal at BU and roll the dice? Not many.

I admit I like Martinez. He broke Mayfield's and Kylar Murray's UlL records. Dude had potential.

But cold off the line like that I don't think it was smart.

The game was in the bag.

Go fight for that TD or at least get a 1st down and the game is over.

That lollygagging around for an 8 yard loss was ridiculous. You could tell by the body language of the players in that series that they were just setting up a FG the entire time.

**** Grimes and his dumb ass. He needs to get fired immediately and pay back this years salary for being a dip *****

While I'll disagree that nothing this season has been "in the bag" with this team.....

THIS assessment is exactly correct. With a season like the Bears have had....you go for the 1st down or TD on that 3rd and 11. Hell, the ball was already inside the 20 and well inside any average kicker's range.

Playing for the field goal was the MOST Baylor-2023 and Aranda/Grimes move of the year. A true end cap to a horrible season led by truly bad coaches.

Entire staff needs to be gutted. Aranda and Rhoades have lost 75% of the fans. Truly sad era in Baylor Football.

Vanderbilt? Northwestern? Cal?

I can somewhat see how they might but they DO NOT need football to be at least decent.

Sadly, in this horribly messed up world in which we live, little old Baylor needs football to at least be decent.

We aren't Vanderbilt, Northwestern or Cal. Compare the endowments.

Truth. The Baylor Kollege of Knowledge has been promoting itself as an Ivy League, Harvard of The South type school for decades. Academics are getting better, but we aren't there. We need the front porch draw of football for applications and the P5 cash for the coffers.
