I don't put much credibility in our previous offensive staff's ability to evaluate talent. That goes for both the roster they had on campus, and recruiting. I do not believe Novosad is nearly as good as our fan base or coaches thought he was.

I doubt it. He comes from a good family and is a very good quarterback.BUATX2000 said:
He will fail in football and in life. The most money he will ever see in his ****ty little life is that dirty Nike blood money that he sold his soul for at the 11th hour. His duplicity and underhanded, self serving nature will send him down a path of ruin and shame. He will spend the next few years picking splinters out of his backside and then disappear into mediocrity in the working world.
Not good enough for Oregon apparently.chorne68 said:I doubt it. He comes from a good family and is a very good quarterback.BUATX2000 said:

Well, nobody wants that, and I doubt he allows that to happen to himself.BUATX2000 said:

I don't think anyone ever claimed Novosad to be the end all be all of our program's future. Rather, he was the prime example of the abject failure of this current regime to recruit. Novosad himself isn't that big of a deal, but Novosad flipping at the last minute last year highlighted the biggest issue facing our program: this staff's inability to recruit the kinds of talent we need to compete at the level we want to compete at.DanaDane said:
Just more evidence that Novosad is nothing what our fanbase keeps trying to build him up to be. Even Oregon's coaching staff knows he's a bust, which is why they took Dante Moore back (which is what you're alluding to).
I agree. The "Novasad flip" was a red flag.guadalupeoso said:I don't think anyone ever claimed Novosad to be the end all be all of our program's future. Good for him but grabbing the NIL money could have steered him to.a place that doesn't allow him a startling role and then he will not have made his case for the NFL and a career of bigger money.
This. It's not an ideal start, but he could still transfer and end up with both a great college career and much more NIL money than he would have received by coming to Baylor first.Jorkel said:ScottS said:Jorkel said:datboiquadzilla said:

Maybe that would be the case if the transfer portal doesn't exist. He got him a bag..did not lose any eligibility because he didn't see the field. Now he can transfer to another team in need of a QB and potentially start. He knew he wasn't going to start this year with Bo Nix on the roster but better to get paid 2x 3x as a freshman than get paid pennies on the dollar to be back up to Shapen here at Baylor.
