People keep saying this, but anecdotally I can say unequivocally that I've never been less interested in the sport. I watched fewer regular season games than I ever have and I've watched only a few minutes here and there of the bowls.

If college football is losing diehards like myself, I can't imagine it's as popular/healthy as those within the sport want to say.

Is your reduced interest primarily because Baylor football seems to be stuck in a slump or for other more general reasons? In other words, would you have more interest if Baylor had another great season like 2021 or 2019?

No, it's a combination of a lot of different factors. But I've lost almost all interest in national college football, due to the realignment and CFP nonsense of the past decade plus. I've gotten to where I watch almost all Big 12 games and a few plays outside of that.

I just don't like the direction the sport has gone with respect to scheduling, realignment and the disastrous four-team playoff.

I think my interest will likely pick up next year with the expanded playoff. But a lot of things have happened around that that negatively impact my enjoyment of the sport at large.

I understand and can relate. My enthusiasm has also dropped a bit but mainly because of the sorry state of our own program. I hope things turn around soon although I have no idea how that will happen. At least we have basketball.

I have been enjoying the successes of Kansas & WVU vicariously. We can relate somewhat to their issues, especially Kansas, since we've been there. Also, it's great fun to watch them best Texas or OU!
