I look at recruiting rankings and its abysmal. We are in the bottom 3 in ever rating service I have seen and between 60-75 in national rankings.

In portal rankings we are doing much better. 23rd class according to 247 and outside of OU (who cares) is neck and neck for top of the Big 12. Obviously portal recruiting rich in Jr and Sr. players will make more of a difference in 2024 than freshmen who need to develop.

I understand this is all a game of voodoo predicting. Who the heck knows with certainty? However, is there a portal/recruiting ranking? Just trying to get a feel for how we are stacking up overall verses other Big 12 teams.

Seems like the recruiting rankings are based on signees (14) and does not include the 9 transfers.

Baylor's avg rating per recruit is about middle of the pack with a pretty small margin from the top of the conference. The actual ranking itself has proven time and time again to be a poor predictor of on-field success, unless it's a top 10 class.

247 ranks HS recruits, transfers and transfers + HS recruits.

Average - Baylor's average 247 transfer + HS recruit rating as of 12:10PM Central on 2/7/24 is 87.35, and, in the Big 12, only Kansas, Utah, UCF, Texas Tech and Colorado have a higher rating in that category.

Number of Commits - As of the same time/date above, Baylor has 23 commits. In the Big 12, only Kansas State has a smaller number of commits. For example and for comparison, Arizona State has 42, TCU has 40, Texas Tech has 33, Houston has 34, and Cincinnati has 38.

If the above items are accurate, Baylor should be perceived as having a top half of the conference class in terms of per transfer + HS recruit quality, and that quality would exceed the average quality of classes recruited by all of Aranda's predecessors in the recruit tracking era.
