Multiple times today when the play was breaking down and it looked like the perfect time for Finn to take off he kept staying in the pocket until he got sacked or had to chunk it OB.

I don't understand his hesitation to take off.

You didn't even have to bring it up, everyone knows he can't. We saw what happened when he was asked to throw the ball last week. I know I know we asked him to be a pocket passer and he isn't.

Finn is terrible. Other than being pretty fast, he embodies the worst aspects of every quarterback that we've had over the past five years. Bad accuracy, bad pocket presence, no touch on his passes, arm strength is so-so at best. Has no feel for situational football (Fourth and 14 and you throw it 2 yards)

He can throw a tight spiral. It's just not in the right direction most of the time

At least we can have more faith in this D to stops Air Force's running game than the D in the bowl game a couple of years ago. Maybe we can win 6-3.

There's a ton to like about this defensive performance. I think we're going to be pretty good on that side of the ball. The challenge now is to find a way to be competent on offense.

I agree on almost all points but let's also be real. The weakness is the secondary and there was literally no chance of them being exposed in the 2nd half against a QB who couldn't throw downfield. It allowed us to stack the box. We won't have that luxury against most any other Big 12 QB. But I agree the effort and the apparent talent level on D overall is a big step up.
We don't have a weakness in the secondary. We have a weakness at the safety spots. Our corners are good. And the safety weaknesses can be schemed around. Dave's doing a much better job of scheming around them than Powledge did.
Yes. That was a great PI play by the corner, Caden Jenkins, on the 3rd and 20 that ended up giving Utah one of it's TDs.
You're right. Good corners never make mistakes.

Jenkins was a freshman All-American. He's a good player. We're four deep at that position with solid options.

Finn didn't come here for this...but we need to use him as a situational QB.

Let Sawyer start and bring Finn in for a couple of plays during the game where a potential QB run threat is needed.

I'd willing to give Finn through about half time of the Air Force game, but if he's still showing nothing and a change isn't made, it tells me that Dave knows that his job is eternally secure
