It was 10 years ago regardless.

I think second chances are in order.

What do we care when everything these days is about winning anyway - even if it means paying players?

Our administration definitely doesn't prioritize winning over maintaining squeaky clean appearances. Just the honest truth
"appearances" is what matters to BOR. If they could have dildo salesman on board without worry they speak double standard.

There aren't many power conference universities that will be gambling on Kinne any time real soon. Baylor is not unique regarding that.

Morning after edit here. I turned on the game near the end and saw nothing y'all were describing on this thread as Briles II. It is also rather funny watching literally his stock drop during the game last night in this thread. Some of y'all are extremely knee jerk and in emotional whirlwinds about coaching moves.

My exact thoughts… too many knee jerk reactions. I am not impressed with Coach K… most of his stunts are for quick 1 year wins and has no idea how to sustain a winning culture/program. No thanks

i need to see more from a candidate because two full seasons as a hc is not enough

Agreed. We have done that before with someone (guymo) and many other teams have as well with someone that had just a few years as a head coach but was the "hot" coach of the moment and when they get a bigger job they don't do well.

There are a ton of examples that could be listed.

imagine if someone poached aranda after our b12 title

they would probably be regretting it right now

I think most of us would support a Kinne hire, assuming his team finishes this season well. I don't blame him for not coming to Baylor 17 years ago.

I think Barry Odom would be a really good hire for us.

Neither are guys that are "must gets" like a Matt Rhule. Aranda may dig himself out of this over the next few games. I think Mack keeps Aranda if he gets to a bowl game unless their is locker room or staff turmoil.

I wouldn't count out Tom Herman being a candidate either if he has a good season.
