I'll bet a couple of you carry man purses strapped around your waist.

3,095 days. Think about it.
What are you talking about?

He's still living in the past, obsessed with the whole Briles fake scandal fiasco. It often seems that Art Briles has taken permanent residency in his brain, rent free.
Nice try candy leg.

I'm here to remind you chief apologists who are liable to trot out revisionist history that hero worshippers started blowing out their keisters excuses starting 3,095 days ago. It's a sickness I tell you. Hanging on for 3,095 days to sadly try to defend the indefensible. I used to have fun making fun of these poindexters but it's gotten pitiful. Some of these boys have gone full ******.

I NEVER think of Art until someone goes full ****** on here and I feel it is my public duty to dry those legs, stiffen those wrists, put callouses on those soft hands, put a hang nail on those perfectly manicured nails, stop the brutal self-administered public floggings, put some meat on that little chest, bow that neck and toss the man purse.

I'm not giving up. 3,095 days = 101.7 months = 8.5 years. All gone. Massive depression. Colossal loss of self-esteem. Sadness. Traumatic emotional pain creeps in to the same old, tired posters. Empty, feeling of worthless, pessimistic, angry, fatigue and worst of all……..reduced sexual desire or lack of performance.

You can throw around childish insults all you want. I don't care. I moved onto from Briles years ago.

Yes, it would be nice to have a dynamic offense like we did 10 years ago but it would also be nice to have a great defense like we did in 2019 & 2021. If we have both consistently then we will be closer to winning championships. That's my primary concern: looking forward. History is a useful tool to understand what works and what doesn't. No need for revisionism.

I hate to tell you guys this, especially here at the end of the Age of Chivalry - but women, like men, are not 100% credible. Women do lie, and they will lie about physical and sexual abuse. That's why if you want to be fair, you have to consider all the facts.

After the #metoo movement in 2018, the number of allegations of physical and sexual misconduct to my firm went up over 200% from where they were prior. Still today, women allege abuse in about 40% of high conflict divorces.

The number of protective orders followed, as in 2018, I prosecuted only 2 civil protective orders and that number was up to 11 in 2022 and 9 for 2023.

Not saying these things didn't happen, but I also don't like a trend where a woman, probably yours, is capable of ruining you financially and sending you to prison based on criminal allegations that you never committed. And, I will tell you, it is really, really easy to get a jury in McLennan County to send an innocent man to prison.

Just be careful out there, and don't judge a book by its cover.

He didn't say sexual assault victims don't matter; he was talking about a different issue. I think you are projecting on to him your own feelings, since you are defending the BOR covering up rapes and trying to divert all the focus from the larger picture the BOR presided over to one program - a program that was still in their purview. And you have the gall to call their cover-up and protection of rapists from criminal prosecution "protecting victims."

Childish insults? Those were standard fare at Baylor inside and outside the locker room and while I don't talk that way in real life, I find it fun on a sports bulletin board.

Defense wins championships. For all of our dynamic offenses we could not get a big, marquee win. We gave up around 550 yards per game in the Fiesta and Cotton Bowl losses. Hell, we gave up 807 yards to WV in 2012. One game!!!

I do agree with you, I do not see the Bennett love. But, it was the Golden Age...

I do not know what happened in Waco during that time, all I know is how it played out in FL and other States. It was not handled well and Briles did not come out like someone that was trying to solve a problem. He came out as a bitter, defensive and mean to the rest of the Nation. In McClellan County, maybe he was a Prince, but it did not look that way outside.

All of us are of that same mind, 47.
All of us are angry at our Alma mater for allowing this to happen.
A large number of our clan don't see Briles as the sole point of attack for this while ignoring those charged with university oversight and management.

Yes we did. 15 of those games were versus the likes of Wofford, Stephen F Austin, Rice, Sam Houston, Buffalo, U Louisiana Monroe, Northwestern State, Lamar and a bad SMU.

Art posted a 65-37 record good for a .637.. I know you boys like to only count the last 5 years but that is not fair. None of the previous coaches get to pick and choose. If we were allowed to do this I would only count my Jr. & Sr. seasons of 8-4 & 10-2 for a .750 or take the bowl games out and I had a .772 career.

I'm just glad we are still batting 1000 against Toby's Business College in 1899.

That .637 is good for a tie for 4th best

Still the worst loss in BU football history. Congrats!

I agree, probably the most humiliating loss in all of Baylor sports!!

The 1981 Cotton Bowl dawg-drilling by Alabama was much more embarrassing than the 1980 San Jose State humiliation.

As a former player my list of humiliating defeats is naturally much different than someone who never wore the green & gold.

Our Daily Bears wrote an article on the Top 10 most embarrassing Baylor defeats in modern times a few years ago. San Jose State was not even in the Top 10. However, the 1981 loss to Alabama made Hon Mention and if you really want an embarrassing moment, take a look at the 1979 loss to Alabama in Birmingham. 0-45. We gave up 431 yards rushing. That was embarrassing.

The Cotton Bowl implosion to Michigan State was even worse. 21 points in the 4th Q? The worst I ever felt for a Baylor player was when the tv cameras focused in on Bryce Petty on the sidelines as his 550 yards and 3 TDs were squandered. The look on Bryce's face hurt me to the bone because he knew that MSU was going to come back and Baylor could not stop them.

Nice try but nope. That's 2 good teams playing in a major bowl game, that's way different. The SJSU debacle sets the bar because it destroyed what would've been an undefeated season & a chance to claim a National Championship. BU was a top 10 (top 5?) undefeated playing at home against a lower division team (which San Jose was at the time). That game was supposed to be a breather, a walk over, play the scrubs. Losing in a major bowl game vs another really good team isn't in the same universe as the San Jose Shame. SMH

Obviously you never played football. Maybe Pop Warner? SJS was D1 in 1980.

Baylor was ranked #10 when we played SJS. Jack Elway was their head coach. They had at least 3 NFL players including a 1st rounder.

Dennis Erickson, head coach of 2 National Championship teams (Miami) was the OC. He would go on to be named twice PAC 10 champ, three time Big East champ, twice Sporting News COY, three time PAC 10 COY, etc.

Nobody watched the SJS game other than the announced 35,000 in Waco. That same weekend UCLA, North Carolina, and Alabama (other undefeated teams) lost their 1st game of the 1980 season. A couple of million watched and remembered the 21 4th Q points to the Spartans. Remember, this was the year Baylor cried and moaned about not making the playoffs so we were a target going into that bowl. We should have shut our mouths and took care of our bowl opponent just like TCU (Big 12 CO-CHAMPS with Baylor) did when they bounced Ole Miss to finish 12-1 to our 11-2.

We threw 4 interception, lost 2 fumbles and had drives to the SJS 6, 22 and 24 net zero points - our kicker was injured and could not kick. Their winning TD drive only took 22 yards. It was embarrassing but not as bad as both Alabama whippings or losing one year to Rice only to turn around to beat Sugar Bowl bound Texas.

Lots of embarrassment in my 4 years as a player and now 43 years as a fan. Life goes on. You learn from it, correct your mistakes and soldier on.

So………I'm proud to know I played on the ONLY Baylor team to be worthy of a National Championship. I felt much more shame losing to Rice in 1978, Alabama by a score of 0-45 and Alabama again 2-30 in 1979. Had I known we were playing for so many National Championships from 1977-1980 I would have played harder!

Losing in front of millions on National TV in a bowl game is the ultimate low. Ask my teammates.

Define being worthy as you use it here. Road or at home upsets occur every weekend.

Did you ever take into account that some teams need a "wake-up call" sometimes to get refocused? Particularly teams that are not blue blood teams.

I am not defending the BOR. I am advocating of women to be protected at BU.
You explicitly defended the BOR and said they were "protecting victims." True, my apologies if for being unclear.
You are not advocating for women to be protected at BU when you defend the entity that created the problem. What "entity" created the problem?

BU junior administrative "leadership" that looked the other way by not even reporting campus-wide sexual assault stats during a significant timeframe.

What "entity" created the problem? Are you seriously arguing the Board of Regents does not have final responsibility for governance of the university organizations? Do you wonder why the Board refused to release the full Pepper Hamilton report? Here is a clue - it's not because the report defended them. I've given you slack in the past by not responding on some of your more 'out-there' posts because you come across as elderly and not always fully in possession of your faculties, but you can't be this ignorant about who is responsible for what happened at Baylor. There was failure across the university, including the Baylor police force being specifically analyzed in the report. Who has governance over the Baylor Police department? You think it's the football coach? This situation deserves a more serious treatment than "let's blame a football coach from the past and drop any further examination of the problem" attitude.

Absolutely. I just said Briles handled poorly in the media. Outside of Texas he looked like a villain because of his words, not anyone else's. He may have been a Prince among men in real life, but the way he handled it was not positive.

Who was on those interviews? AI? Whose texts were those? There were ALOT of guilty people, but outside of TX all we saw was Briles and him answering questions in his own words. He was the posterboy for this. As I said, he may have been the best guy and had nothing to do with it, but that was not how it played out. I have no idea of what went down in Texas, wasn't there at the time. I am telling you what we saw in FL. You can be pissed all you want, it doesn't change the perception.

The information may be wrong, but the message was out there and whether or not you like it is irrelevant. BU and Briles came out as the bad guys playing ostrich accomplishes nothing. It was what it was.
But keep saying it, it may make you fell good.

Not arguing anything yet. I simply asked "what entity"/ It was hard to follow your argument without some context.

My response was clear - "You explicitly defended the BOR..." is from the same response you asked the question on. BOR stands for Board of Regents.
