I have a good buddy whose son goes to CU, and he's been all in on Deion from the beginning. He told me early last season if you listen to Deion not being Primetime but just being a coach, he's actually a pretty contemplative guy who admits he's still learning to be a coach. But you have to get past the soundbites that are all you see and read on ESPN
I really never had the time to watch a CU press conference, so I take his word for it.
I have heard the same. I work with someone who has a son that plays for Colorado. They can not say enough good things about him. The players love playing for him.
I've never been a fan of Prime....but taking over a 1-11 team and breathing life into the entire program in just 2 years has been impressive. He is packing out that stadium and growing a national audience for the Colorado brand.
The big question is will he stay. He's saying all the right things about committing long term...but we've seen plenty of coaches say that before bolting. He is still drawing a lot of attention from highly rated recruits.
It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next several months. For Colorado and the B12 I hope he stays. He's ratings gold.
