Looks like WV is the first and possibly only open B12 gig. Gotta wonder if Satterfields seat is getting hott in Cincy

There are two since Malzahn left UCF yesterday.

Rumor he will take over at his alma mater UMass.

And WVU going after Jimbo.

I always liked the guy. I guess finally losing to Baylor at home was the last straw?

Pretty easy to miss nobody paid attention to them this year. The only reason I read about it is because he took an OC job and that was how it was announced.

WVU will be interesting. Half the fanbase wants Jimbo; half wants the return of RichRod. Who does the biggest money donors want?

Neither would be smart hires by WV if we're being honest

If it's Jumbo he ought to do the job on a volunteer basis given what he took the aggys for.

I agree. I would go with a younger guy who can adapt with the changing environment in college football instead of retreads. But I wonder how WVU will view it through the lens they probably feel like they went for the young up and comer in someone like Brown and got burned. So I wonder if they will try to go a more familiar route this time.

Why not Nick Saban?

That would be an absolutely terrible hire for WVU. In every way imaginable.

The last straw was getting mud-holed by Tech in Lubbock. They completely no-showed their regular-season finale.

I think Rich Rod would be OK. He knows what it takes to be successful there and has experienced some success at multiple stops since his WVU stint.

Jimbo would be an absolute disaster.

Life comes at you fast, esp in cfb.

Nick won't take it, but they should ask anyway.

Is that really a step up? I could see Keeler regretting that move pretty quickly.

From a conference perspective it's absolutely a step up. However, Temple is a hard place to win for obvious reason. Risky move for Keeler who's clearly betting on himself.

The AAC is a better conference than the CUSA, obviously. But he's not leading the conference. He'll be leading one of the worst programs in Division I history ... and leaving a burgeoning program in the middle of the country's most fertile recruiting ground to do it.

I did read, however, that he's a Pennsylvania native, which makes that move make a little more sense. But Temple is a very difficult place to win.

I guess they could ask. I would assume that since he retired from like the third best job in college football behind Georgia and Oregon that he was categorically done with coaching, but who knows.

Keeler is one of the most underrated coaches in football. My main question about him is his ability to use the transfer portal. I am not sure how prevalent it is at the FCS level/Conference USA, and you have to hit the ground running nowadays. He's also not exactly a spring chicken

It's going to be someone like this. I don't see Jimbo going there and operating under a tighter budget for paying staff and players in less fertile recruiting grounds and at a school that doesn't recruit itself like what he is used to.

Every Aggie is praying for this. I believe Jimbo's payments from A&M are offset by what he earns as a head coach.
