Supposedly both schools have sold out their allotments, but Ticketmaster is still showing lots of tickets available in the lower level (probably 70-75% of those unsold are on the LSU side). Club level is almost completely sold out with the exception of a few in the endzones.

As far as the upper level goes, nothing showing for sale on the LSU side or the endzones, but the 500 level (upper level, but below the concourse) on the BU side is available and probably 90-95% unsold. Nothing for sale in the 600s or 700s, so they appear to not be selling those.

Gotta say a 3-8 record against them when 7 of those games have been in Baton Rouge and 1 in Waco isn't as terrible as sounds.
Also, Baylor was terrible in the late 60's/early 70's right before Teaff started. Kevin Steele bad.
Not sure what happened back in the leather helmet days, LSU must've had a team of 28 year old men playing BU's 19 year old kids.

Off the top of my head: their starting left tackle and right tackle, their number one receiver, both of their primary tight ends, and basically all of their free safeties

Not sure if he will still play in the bowl game or not

It would behoove him to play. I kind of get people not playing if they're going to be a first or second round pick, but everybody else should play

Not that it really matters, but Saturday's ESPN College Gameday, the ONLY game the group didn't predict score or mention was, of course BU vs LSU. Interesting that an SEC team wasn't given some airtime. Don't know which received less respect... LSU or BU.

I noticed that and wondered if maybe they were only doing predictions for bowl games this week and they would predict ours on CGD next Saturday

I can't believe we haven't played them in modern football times somewhere along the way. 1985 is 4 decades ago.
It's possible they tried but teams with 80k+ stadiums will not play at smaller stadiums as a rule. They like having those games in their big places.

For historical, LSU played Rice home and home to open every season for decades and sprinkled a lot of saggie too but that game was always in BR until mid 80's I think. Probably didn't need another game in Texas

I didn't watch because I didn't want to see anymore SEC propaganda and I didn't expect Baylor to be mentioned. Was that the last CGD? If not, then maybe there will be another this Saturday to discuss all the forthcoming games.

it says their next Gameday will be at the Rose Bowl on Jan 1.

That is after our game and even after the Fiesta Bowl - which I assume they would pick at some point.

BATON ROUGE LSU continued to prepare for its New Year's Eve game against Baylor in the Kinder's Texas Bowl with another workout Saturday at the Charles McClendon Practice Facility.

The Tigers will use Sunday as a recovery day before holding its final practice in Baton Rouge on Monday. The Tigers will take three days off for Christmas before departing for Houston on Dec. 27.

Kickoff for the LSU-Baylor contest is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. CT on Dec. 31 at NRG Stadium. The game will be televised on ESPN.

LSU, winners of its last two regular-season games, brings an 8-4 overall mark into what will be the program's third appearance in the Texas Bowl. Baylor, coached by former LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda, has won six straight and stands at 8-4 overall. It's the first meeting between LSU and Baylor since the Bears posted a 21-7 win over the Tigers in the 1985 Liberty Bowl.

"The morale has been great and every guy that's out there wants to be out there," LSU coach Brian Kelly said of bowl practice. "Practices have been lively, the guys are excited about preparing and they want the right outcome so they know they have to prepare the right way.

"It's been fun for me as a coach and our coaches have been excited about the mindset of the group. We will have some first-time starters in this game and you'll see that at times, but this is a group that wants to go out there and compete and they'll compete hard."

One of the young players getting extra work during bowl prep due to the departure of Mason Taylor and Ka'Morreun Pimpton is that of Trey'Dez Green, who has seen action at both tight end and wide receiver this year as a true freshman.

"The end line blocking is probably the area that we are most impressed with," Kelly said of Green's development during bowl preparation. "His want to and willingness to go in there and do some of the tough jobs. We are pretty excited about what's he's doing, how he's doing and his demeanor because that's an easy job to turn down and he's been great."

Green capped the regular-season with seven catches for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Good to know they are "coming down to our level". The article says LSU will have "plenty of players sit out"....but as of right now only 3 starters have said they will sit out. I guess they are just speculating that more will sit out.

"This number is indicating that LSU will have plenty of players sit out which can bring the talented Tigers down to the Bears level, and given the form in which each team finished the season, it's fair to see why."

Baylor vs. LSU How to Watch

Baylor vs. LSU Key Players to Watch

Baylor

Sawyer Robertson: The Bears offense took off over the second half of the season, and Robertson emerged as one of the best quarterbacks in the Big 12. He passed for 2,626 yards with 26 passing touchdowns and only seven interceptions. The Baylor offense is 35th in EPA/Play while scoring nearly three points per drive and Robertson's ability to keep the offense on schedule has been pivotal to its success.

LSU

Garrett Nussmeier: Nussmeier's play tailed off towards the end of the season, and he announced his intention to return to LSU next season. Overall, he led an elite passing offense as he passed 3,739 yards with 26 passing touchdowns, but there are plenty of opt-outs for this game that may hamper the Tigers effectiveness, which is incredibly leveraged on its passing game with a top 10 passing play percentage.

Baylor vs. LSU Prediction and Pick

These two teams enter in different mindsets after Baylor won its final six games of the regular season and are going to look to maintain its momentum into the 2025 campaign. Overall, the team has limited opt-outs ahead of this game as of this writing.

Meanwhile, LSU fell short of College Football Playoff goals set ahead of the season as the team's defense continued to struggle and the run game was limited throughout the entire season. With that in mind, several key players have opted out of the game, including two starting offensive linemen with potentially more looming, including No. 1 wide receiver Kyren Lacy.

This number is indicating that LSU will have plenty of players sit out which can bring the talented Tigers down to the Bears level, and given the form in which each team finished the season, it's fair to see why.

While the Tigers played a tougher schedule, the team rates out worse than Baylor over the balance of the season, 53rd in net EPA/Play against Baylor's 44th mark in the same metric. With the likelihood that LSU is a shell of its full roster, this matchup sets up for another win for the budding Bears.

With about a two-andhalf hour drive to Houston from Waco, Baylor should enjoy a solid turnout for this game and win the game outright.

Line has inched up another half point.

It has now swung 5 points. It's gone from LSU -3 to BU -2. Glad I got in on BU early.
