TT just bad. They need to hit the transfer portal hard.

These bowl games are stupid ... and will remain so as long as the season and academic/transfer calendar are complete odds with each other.Robert Wilson said:

I agree. It's a huge mess, and the product has suffered significantly (as did college BB). That will continue without some governance or collective bargaining.bear2be2 said:These bowl games are stupid ... and will remain so as long as the season and academic/transfer calendar are complete odds with each other.Robert Wilson said:
Texas Tech football is just so consistently a disappointment.
Teams play their entire season with one team and coaching staff only to play a goofy exhibition game at the end without a bunch of their best players and -- in some cases -- the head coaches and/or coordinators that led them all year.
The Tech-Arkansas game was a prime example. Both teams were running skeleton crews out there, full of players playing roles they haven't held all season -- and likely won't even hold next year.
Honestly, the college football product is really bad right now. Games are exciting, but no one is actually good by historical standards. Because of the impact the transfer portal has had on teams' depth and continuity, every game is a mistake-filled mess. The games are still fun. But the quality has never been worse.

Makes sense. Our loss to Utah did not count as a conference game for standing.

The elevation of Lafayette, Louisiana is 36 feet above sea level, not below sea level. Albuquerque is 5,276 feet higher. While Ft Worth is significantly higher it still is far lower than Albuquerque. Bottom line: TCU is a much better team.

If the SEC is the "best conference" (TM) then their bowl games are against inferior teams. Those games should be easier, not harder.
Miami is now 1-12 in bowl games since 2007, their lone win coming in the 2016 Russell Athletic Bowl.
