Griffin is one of my favorite Bears of all-time.
However, sometimes he says things that make him look ridiculous. Hard to figure that guy out.

Is he commentating a game right now or you just making a general statement?

Sorry, i thought it posted his comment.
Yep, well he's getting torched because of it.
But if you agree with where he's going with it, that's fine too.
He just seems to say things every once in a while that seem a little off.
Still a fan.

Torched by grifting outrage merchants like Clay Travis and Jason Whitlock. Who cares?

His point is a fair one.

Oh, i can see you have an objective view on the situation.

Didn't he just make a similar comment comparing Mike Tomlins lack of recent playoff success to Mike McCarthy?

I would say the same exact thing if his examples were reversed and it was Jamele Hill rage baiting on Twitter.

A grift is a grift regardless of which tribe you're feeding red meat to for engagement.

He did. But that one didn't fit Clay Travis' agenda.

That was a fair point, too.

You have to be "provocative" to make money today. So, people tweet. (Or X).

With kids, he and wife are trying to build a social media following. It's all meh to me.

He made the Tomlin comment later because everyone was blowing up on him being a race-baiter.
Smart move probably

Just because you don't like/agree with calling out playing the race card doesn't make people who do "grifting outrage merchants" any more than those who race bait are "grifting outrage merchants".

I always find it funny when someone like RG3 makes those comments and they are married to a white person. He might want to check his own post season stats as well before he's starts yapping.

What's the problem?

Herbert has been held to this standard like he's the next Tom Brady but he's not even the next Kirk Cousins.

He insinuated that Justin Herbert was not subject to the same playoff performance scrutiny as Lamar Jackson or Dak Prescott, simply because Herbert is white.

All the while completely ignoring the spectacular performance of Houston QB C.J. Stroud.

He hasn't been held to the same level of scrutiny.

He's still talked about as a top quarterback despite only leading his team to the playoffs twice in five years and ****ting the bed both times.

Dak and Lamar Jackson's limitations are talked about endlessly -- especially this time of year -- and they've both been objectively better than he has both in the regular season and postseason.

I'm not a big hot take guy, but his point was a perfectly fair one.

And CJ Stroud is in his second year as an NFL player and has already overachieved all reasonable expectations for him out of the draft. He hasn't had time to build a track record, and that which he has built has been positive. Frankly the expectation that he even be included in this discussion is absurd.

RG3 is in the media business, which is the "pay attention to me" business. In that business, the only thing worse than bad publicity is no publicity.

Anyone whose content and engagement is driven primarily off marketing hot takes on the words and actions of others to a specific tribe -- most often on a partisan basis -- is a grifter. Unfortunately, there's a lot of money to be made in reinforcing the opinions of deeply tribal people. And those tribal people are often too partisan and/or gullible to know they're marks.

But Clay Travis and Jamele Hill are the opposite side of the exact same coin. And together, they -- and people like them -- are tearing our country apart.

I haven't cared about RGIII a lick since he played for Baylor. I appreciate all he did to improve the program. I'm weird that way.

Herbert was horrible this weekend. I don't remember what he did in the last few years. I don't get the Jackson criticism. He balls in the Mahommes era. Those things happen.

With Henry, they could win it all.

Jackson is a perennial MVP candidate, Herbert isn't. RGIII? More like CTEIII. This was an embarrassing attempt to generate controversy and RGIII should feel embarrassed for posting it.

If you don't think there has been a widespread narrative in the media that Lamar Jackson is a playoff choker, you haven't been paying attention.

And Griffin played with Jackson in Baltimore, so there's likely more to this than skin color in that case.

Jackson gets criticism for not being "quaterbacky"

(19) Kevin Oestreicher on X: "Mike Florio goes in on playoff Lamar Jackson "Lamar Jackson has a history of failing in the postseason. When Lamar Jackson tries to talk his way out of his history, he only puts more pressure on himself…You will feel the pressure, oh yes you will" https://t.co/rtZBao1Jsk" / X

He keeps losing to Mahommes and team. He's Reggie Miller and Patrick Ewing.

I think the point is neither of them could ever crack through vs the Celtics, Pistons, or Bulls.

Those Pacers teams struck me as among the best to never get to a championship series. I liked Reggie Miller. I quite enjoyed watching the Knicks never break through.
