Iowa State, Texas Tech and Kansas state fans: “I Promise you we’re not that good”

Everyone else: “This list is dumb as fuck because my team isn’t as high as I think they should be”
Houston fans: “Houston too high”
The one thing I can figure is the #1 recruiting class this year and the #6 class last year and Manning is stepping in at QB.Dia del DougO said:
I've seen national lists that put Texas first overall in the country.
I'm not sure what that would be based on considering all the players that are leaving. I guess they have the most resources to replace them and get even better ones, but who knows.
Probably just an opinion trend that means jack squat, like pretty much all power ranking and bogus polls that should have no bearing on anything.
SMU deserved their spot in the playoff, but they also avoided the #2, 3 and 4 ACC teams in the regular season, then lost to the #2 team and got housed by PSU. They were a good team that got a great draw, and took advantage. Their best win was... @Louisville? They didn't beat a single team that finished the year in the top 25.guadalupeoso said:
This seems about right, but I think Baylor, TCU, and SMU could all end up being the second best behind Texas. All three teams have talent and coaching staffs who have shown they can make it happen, but not with any consistency. I personally would probably have put SMU ahead of us considering they are just out of a playoff appearance and have their starting qb coming back. But for what it's worth, I do think we have a good shot of beating them in week 2 in Dalls.
