Just shows you how poorly the college NIL market is at evaluating talent at this point.

But how much will Sanders make in endorsements? That would be comparing apples to apples since NIL isn't a contract with the school.

Funny, but I have a hard time calling being a multimillionaire at age 23 or whatever he is "consequences".

A lot. I'm sure somebody will cater and pay for his rap album, I'm sure he will get a shoe deal if he doesn't already have one, etc. He is definitely living the good life

Laughed at this! but the biggest laugh is for all the guys and "handlers" who conned the rich folks into funding their athletic skill into an easy ROI.

It is when he was projected for $43 million for his first contract in the NFL.

Talent is not the sole reason people get NIL deals. It's a great recruiting tool for schools, but many companies just want a face that people recognize.

If I was already making $6 million I'd just stay in college and ride the gravy train. Too risky to move on and suffer a pay cut.

Does the $6 million include his commercials? He had quite a few

Maybe he should've taken a pay cut to get himself a better OL which he was always complaining about

Eh…Sanders would have at worst been a 2nd round pick but for how the owners/GMs -felt- about him. That's not to say he won't wash out as many drafted players do, but it is to say that those feelings are not a reflection of his talent.

It's being reported that he purposely tanked interviews with teams that he didn't want to go to. I'm honestly starting to think that the guy just isn't that smart or has major Dunning Kruger effect

I would agree with this if I actually saw commercials with college athletes in them. I can only think of a handful of ones. Even for local stuff with Baylor players.

It seems very few of the NIL deals actually involve commercials, appearances or anything like that.

Really the only commercial I can think of is the Dr. pepper ones that had ewers this last season and Caleb Williams before that. Other than those I don't recall any.

Which is what NIL was supposed to be but somehow has just plain turned into pay for play with very little advertising, appearances, etc.

I heard Pullman Railroad Cars offered him a lucrative deal to endorse their new line of cabooses.

It will depend on his play.

He's just fine. Probably landed in the best place for him. And if he wins there? He'd become a god.

No problem, I'm sure he saved most of that money and invested wisely.
