Welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to a really entertaining game.
My question for you… how much does your fan base already hate/regret having prima donna UT in the conference?
We havent played them yet but we honestly love them because they beat Bama lol.
Im sure once we start playing them regularly the hate will come.
I was actually surprised by how gracious the Texas fans were after they beat us in the NC game way back when. They just all seemed so stoked to have another NC after so many years, they were just doing more celebrating than rubbing it in anyone's face. But I know internal rivalries will always bring out the worst in fanbases. ; )
ucla is the perfect example for us. If you were to poll CF fans across the nation they would have a much less favorable opinion of USC fans than ucla fans. But you start playing ucla and you might not have the same opinion. The truths come out. You beat them a couple of times and you'll be hearing about how much smarter they are than you. How everyone wishes they could have gone to ucla but they just weren't smart enough. Or that they go to school in Beverly Hills and you don't. LOL. They love to get personal on the academic thing. LOL It's not about what's happening on the field, or the court.
That all being said, Im hoping for a BU win in memory of my father, but our home and away with Auburn back in the early 2000s was one of the better matchups we've had. I don't know how Auburn visitors to this board remember USC fans at the game, but I remember how cool their fans in Auburn were. Even though the game didn't go the way they wanted, they were inviting us to their postgame gatherings, and I was really impressed by the overall vibes. I'm sure SC had some obnoxious fans as all teams do, but we also got hit with a barrage of messages on the USC boards welcoming us to Auburn, and then after the game offering congrats. And their fans mentioning how great the USC fans were, Knowledgable and fun to hang with at the game.
Even though it's a matchup that doesn't happen often, it was a good one.
