The Missouri team is solid - ATM (and it's painful writing this) has a very good chance to make the championship final....

It will be interesting how they handle Bama in SEC Champ game or another top team in CFP. tamu most certainly passes the eye test. they are good no doubt and being undefeated is impressive, but they have gotten lucky in their conference scheduling this year that includes only the bottom dwellers of the conference. Missouri is solid, but they are a middle-of-the-pack team in the SEC. The combined conference record of tamu's conference opponents is 13-34 as of today. Their best win is a very overrated, media darling Notre Dame team who has no business being ranked as high as 10.

I'll answer my own question.. He's been AD nine and a half years. No blowups.

Two occurrences 3 hours apart I lump into one and consider it 'having a bad day'. Tough emotional last second loss. .Maybe Aranda should yell at someone on the sidelines.

But like I said.. if it turns out we have Woody Hayes or Bobby Knight for an AD I'll be the loudest wanting a change.

Silly **** like this happens in every program.. just seems the timing is weird on this..

It's more than two three hours apart. It's the first two reported publicly. Do you know how far down you have to reach from AD to blow up with a player?

It also shown the incredible disrespect he has for the coach an his staff. Not only did he not take a uniform issue to the coach, he did it right before the start of a critical game.

I've been perplexed at why is this team 4-4 instead of 8-0. Did we play unbeatable teams? Auburn just fired their coach. From my nose bleed, the coaches have seemed unsure and timid. Can't help but wonder if an AD fighting with a star player during a critical game played a role in that.

This is dysfunctional.

(This also says a lot about Aranda for not throwing him off his sideline)

As this story unfolded my initial thought went to how many successful/relatively successful coaches would allow this? I can visualize a few that wouldn't tolerate that. Maybe a pattern is actually surfacing. There have been comments about his "micromanaging" issue. Mulkey, Aranda doing "DUAL" responsibilities... HC & DC, and now this. No one really knows what the "clubhouse" mind set is from staff, support, players, medical, etc, etc. Whatever his personal issues are today, still doesn't reflect the past few years. Obviously, his ego and hands on stance is not productive. BU just doesn't seem to ever make wise, prudent decisions other than the occasional blind luck.

A school, such as Baylor, can't continue this in today's environment and receive Money, support, etc. Maybe that is the intent of the powers of the school.

Lol there is no HC in America who can kick his AD off the sidelines. No NFL HC can throw the owner off the sidelines. This is really stretching things at a comical level at this point to achieve an agenda. Nothing in this story involves the HC at all.

The President can order the AD off the sidelines. I'm also wondering if this has occurred hence why I have asked in a couple of threads if Rhoades was seen in the sidelines at the UCF game, our best performance incidentally.

Totally disagree. If coach says leave, he has to go.he is interfering with the team preparation. His security will enforce that. You think an AD wants to be seen fighting with the Head Coach on camera right after kick off. They have to use a TO or 5 yard penalty?

That's coaches team and sideline. AD etc can fire him but that sideline is his until they do.

Throwing the owner off in NFL is different. GM? Gotta go.

It's possible we may not see the rest of the story until the end of the season.

Unless the media keeps pushing it up the headline rankings, or whether it just peters out.

no I am not - but every one has had their say on the matter for a few days now -

maybe let the issue get resolved by the BU admin.

that's just my dos centavos........

again, overall MR has done a good job - and given the legitimately serious issues BU athletics has faced over the years, that's a win.

While some have mentioned that this is the first incident during ADMR's tenure, it might be more accurate to say it is the first incident we have heard about. Others may have been successfully managed. And if the moms are riled up, it may not be the first incident this season. I will also add that many who have watched him over his career do not view this as inconsistent with his character.

And he could still be in the wrong for this incident. I get waiting to hear what all happened, but I don't think we will possibly ever hear the truth/entire story on this one. As I have previously stated, it will take a leak or going to one of the eyewitnesses for info. I don't believe I am asking for much when I hope/expect a leader at Baylor with his title, visibility, and responsibilities would not be in the news for this type of a situation. It was 100% avoidable. The HR and PR pieces of this story/investigation look terrible.

To get an idea how he sees himself, go to the Baylor Athletic website and look at his lengthy bio.
Not often that folks have a bio consisting of that many paragraphs (quick count, 43 paragraphs).

Here's the only scenario that makes sense to me:
BU knows that Mack's position as CFP Chairman makes him too public for them to fire him on the spot. They've already told him that he's done after this season and if he steps out of line, they'll release the video with quotes from witnesses and ensure he never gets another job in college athletics. Aranda is a package deal and will be fired at the same time.

What I'd love to see:
BU uses this as a moment for transparency, fires Mack, and gets very public with damage control. "We can't have that kind of behavior" "We value student athletes" "We need someone with character" etc… New AD comes in and wants to pick a new coach immediately.

Baylor needs an exciting, young coach who will fire up the base and lean into NIL. Someone that can develop talent, unite the donors, and get things back on track. Easier said than done, but we don't have a choice.

I can't imagine Aranda's firing as a package deal. Can you imagine Baylor trying to hire a new HC without an AD and blowing whatever money they have for a roster on this? Well …..no one worthy will take the HC job if we don't have money left over to buy him a roster. Because every one in coaching business knows they will look bad as a HC if they don't have a roster worth a lot of money. There is your catch 22 in the pay for play era. Additionally we don't know the final record this year. But again imagine Baylor without an AD competing with over a third of all P4 ADs looking for new HCs.

That said I'm not sure we are making an AD change I don't know enough at this time to even say it is necessary. If we do though, a new AD should be the one evaluating football probably next season and making that decision.
