It is my understanding that Hampton received a scholarship from Florida at the end of this season. DJ helped him get an offer here. To me, this lays to rest Ny notion that DJ might sign elawhere

So to get Lagway to consider Baylor, it's apparent that DJ will be picking his teammates even if they aren't highly recruited. Which brings me to my next concern, are the players we're picking up ie a lineman from Incarnated Word ( not a football powerhouse) actually improving our team or just filling holes by departing players. Finally I hope all these WRs can also play on our defensive line and offensive line

At this point I almost think Aranda needs to hold a press conference and tell the public that Baylor is not moving forward with signing DJ, because if he's not all in on being a bear we don't want him.
That's a much better alternative narrative than DJ leaving for a school like Duke on his own accord just before the stroke of midnight.

No one associated with Baylor has announced anything about Lagway. It is all the people who write little columns for this site on their Twitter accounts ho are doing all the talking about this.

What's your point? It appears that there is no Plan B, and the guy who "committed" is not yet committed enough to sign in ink. After Novasad and Robert Wright, why would you expect fans wouldn't be concerned and discussing it?

Correct… no announcement because he hasn't signed. Do you not see the issue with that?

The only announcement he committed is from self alleged insiders on this site.

DJ Lagway is BY FAR our best option at quarterback next season, and because we've allowed our program to reach the state it has, we have no leverage whatsoever in any sort of negotiations with him.

Those acting like we should just tell him to kick rocks and start Nate Bennett next year are delusional.

Odds are very high that Lagway will be our starting QB when the 2026 season kicks off. And if he's not, we're screwed anyway, because anyone worth getting at that position has already been scooped up out of the portal. Getting worked up over this -- or any other -- recruitment process is silly.

I respectfully disagree. No getting worked up or arguing, just healthy discussion.
Look at some of the top quarterbacks in the portal. Sorsby, Leavitt, the guy from North Texas, Mensah. They weren't any better than Bennett, Griffin, or Murphy to start. No one can say for certain what we have in the room because we haven't seen them in action.
Not saying they're better or worse than Lagway, just saying we've seen as many 5 stars bust as we have 2-3 stars play like 5 stars.

Party is correct. Baylor is not allowed by NCAA rule to make comments about players who are not signed with Baylor. That is nothing new.

Y'all can stop worrying about it now. It's official.

What I like about how we and about everyone else handles these situations versus how Tech handles them also I kind of dislike. I know we are going to be classy and use discretion and not try to be showy but I would kind of love to know the terms of the contract. Though again I know it is just between the school, the donor and the player.

Do we really know if there is a donor or just coming out of the $20.5 million the school has to share.
