I'm assuming "player enhanced benefits" is some kind of NIL adjacent deal.

Louisiana Tech announces a new 3-year contract for coach Sonny Cumbie with a paycut, down to $760,000 annually. The $155,000 decrease will instead go to "programmatic causes, including player-enhanced benefits."

Coming off an 8-5 season, his deal was set to expire next year.

I think it is hilarious that yall are calling for contact extension now without knowing that is what you are doing. If we extend him again it will likely be the way yall are advocating.

Cumbie is 19-31 and just got a contract extension. I think this may reveal the wave of the future, keeping coaches around and putting the money toward players.

I'm really tired of hearing people talk about what a nice guy he is. I really don't care if he's nice. There are plenty of nice people that will accept 4 or 5 million a year to be barely mediocre at their jobs. I have plenty of jerks that would act nice to make that kind of money
