Anthony Fauci pleads the Fifth..he must want Aranda gone too..

Your ability to try and connect two unrelated things to recycle another new thread saying the exact damn thing you've said a million times is unmatched.

One would hope that Baylor Law produces judges that put the letter of the law ahead of playing favorites.

It's good to see that you are getting plenty of rest and staying hydrated. That's what keeps ones mind sharp.

Luna is going to separate his love of Baylor and Baylor Football from his duties as District Judge every time.

I assure you that Luna is a Baylor fan. He used to have season tix down from me and brought his daughter to the football games.

Don't be too rough on him. I didn't hear the arguments of the case; he did. But, I respect him for not allowing outside influences to affect his decision making.

Short of a 3 win season, I believe Aranda will be here until the end of his contract. The Administration has no sense of urgency and the BMD are apathetic and probably doesn't want to burn money. NIL, etc, etc, have just magnified the situation for a small private school with no true competitive investment.

You couldn't tell me that a competitive HC wouldn't drive investment

A very good point, no doubt.
I have to think with the current and what seems to be the future College football platform that the folks who contribute $$$ to a university & administration, who either is not committed to competing or let's just say "limited", will Limit/have a ceiling to their investment financially or interest. Baylor's success will be limited because Baylor is who we are, Baylor. Success... lose, rinse and repeat. The Teaff's of the world no longer exist. Best example I can give is Matt Campbell. Great coach, invested in Iowa St, but we all know what eventually happened. I just think reality is finally settling in with everyone. There was a time Baylor had a "shot" at National goals, but that time has passed. It's a fact and playing the lottery has better odds. Personally, if I was a BMD those would be my thoughts. my passion for BU would have a $$$ limit and probably wouldn't be consistent.

Just my thoughts, I'm just a longtime fan with no inner knowledge plus I'm just a "Bubba" with a keyboard.

This is reality. The rest of you are just farting upwind of yourselves.

I don't enjoy parsing words...but here I go parsing words.

How often in seasons past has the HC or AD stepped to the microphone this time of year and stated that Baylor would be 'competitive' in the upcoming season? "Competitive" being a codeword for "loser." Beatdowns by the state schools and 'competitive' games against the privates were a baked-in reality before Art ushered us to another level.

Well, we are there again and what are we going to do to get ourselves out of this hole? That is the question we need to be peppering admin with. If they deny that we're in a hole then they have just fingered themselves as part of the problem, not the solution.

I wish - but I think we (or at least our BOI) did such a complete job of destroying the man that there's no chance of that.

Baylor has a larger student body than Kansas State, so I wouldn't really call it a small private school. Baylor is in the mid-range of the Big 12 as far as NIL investment, which is significant given the fact that the fanbase as a whole is generally apathetic.

There was 1 year under Rhule and a few under Briles where the fanbase was strong, but other than that it has been pretty horrific for a school that's a charter Big 12 member. When you win a national championship in men's basketball yet still struggle to fill a 7,000 seat arena, your fanbase is the issue, not the administration.

I'd imagine NIL funding would improve at least 25% with a new head coach, but I'd also guess that NIL funding would approve around 20% if the team actually won 8 or more games while generating buzz.

Anyone throwing out "low T" as a cause is almost certainly dealing with low T themselves and, yes, you and your lifestyle are very much to blame for your low testosterone scores. It's such a stupid and embarrassing expression that's particularly popular among boomers these days.

I've got to differ with you a bit. FANBASE IS a problem… a 33% problem. Someone will have to help me here, I believe BU has something around 150+K alumni. Not all of them are athletic oriented. You've got a lot of Biff's, Dak's, Buffy and Muffin's that have zero interest in anything on an athletic field. #'s/math is what it is. I had no idea IN had such a large alumni until the playoffs. #'s matter. I will forever believe that the Amin & BMD's just aren't committed as many on this site.

To your point about 25% increase in NIL helping. Yes, sustainable, I dunno. The BIG 12 has zero respect from those that matter. BU would have to become a perennial ND for it to make a difference. BU will always be looking in. Anything ,football wise, will garner very little respect; especially in the new College Football. Ain't pretty, but it is what it is. GO Scott Drew… while we have him.

As I see and hear Art Briles these days, especially having met him not long ago, I see no sign of his having been "destroyed" by anyone, least of all by self-imagined BU power brokers.

Desperately need to find a coach that can squeeze a lot of production out of modest talent. The Navy coach comes to mind. The Air Force game in 2022 is basically a case study in what a disciplined, motivated, well-coached but lesser talented team can do to an unmotivated, undisciplined team with an overrated coordinator that has jumped the shark as a head coach

Yep,

We need a hungry, motivating, upward punching HC. Everything Sweet Dave is not.

Fortunately, this judge thinks the same.

Sweet Dave? Wonder what the over under is on how many games until he is fired, its on a prediction market somewhere I'm sure...
