There may be NIL contractual obligations that might prevent him from doing that. Frankly, not to be harsh, but if he were to do that and have a bad season here, his next stop is North Texas or Rice

I think the Arizona State game is the pivotal game. We'll be 3-1 going into that one, and a loss signals we're not getting any better - still losing to teams we need to beat to step forward and only beating the crappy ones.

Because the loss to Texas State happened under CDA, I cannot assume we will be 3-1 going into AZ State.

I know basically zero about Louisiana tech, but I assume that any halfway decent players they had last year either graduated or got pilfered by a bigger school.

I feel like this was a rare game that wasn't entirely Aranda's fault, considering we had Blake "I can throw the ball accurately past 15 yards" Shapen running the passing game, plus most of Matt Rhules superhumans had graduated at that point

Yeah, I think you're right.

Speed and a big arm only gets you so far in that position without the ability to make great in game decisions.

He was statistically one of the worst quarterbacks in the SEC last year, and that was with more talent surrounding him at UF than we are going to surround him with.

With our OL, he's going to spend a lot of time trying to throw on the run.

I hope it does not come to this, but college football is now a professionalized business, and the family may need to make a business decision. We may not like that reality, but the game has changed. A thread like thisonce nearly unimaginable 20 years agomay still seem unlikely today, but it is no longer unthinkable.

I do think it was Aranda's fault. It's his job to get his team ready to play, and to call plays based on the players you have been dealt.

I just think it's interesting that the players expect to get their share of the athletic department's revenue and expect fans to donate money to bribe them to come there, while those same fans are still expected to provide unconditional support for the team and keep their mouths shut when the team and coaches suck. I mean, are there really people that can't see the hypocrisy there?

Amazing how history tends to repeat itself. Not sure if you lived through the Kevin Steele era. It was the Pollyannas vs. the Realists. The football board was probably more divided than it is now.

There is only one cure for this disease. Winning. Just don't see it happening anytime soon. Except Prairie View A & M should be worried.

Just to give you an idea of how foolish this decision was, Arizona State looked at the bottom tier of SEC quarterbacks and decided to take Cutter Boley from Arizona State two weeks before we signed Lagway.
