SicEm365 has confirmed through sources close to the Baylor football program that former NFL Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year Kent Johnston will join the Baylor coaching staff in an advisory position to assist the strength and conditioning department in multiple areas.

Exact details of Johnston's position are not yet defined.

Johnston served as an assistant coach at the collegiate level at Northwestern State University (1979-1980), Northeast Louisiana University (1980-1981), and the University of Alabama (1983-1986).

He then made the transition to the NFL where he spent over 20 years including as Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1987-1991), the Green Bay Packers (1992-1998), and the Seattle Seahawks (1999-2003) before returning to the University of Alabama. Later he was hired as the Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Cleveland Browns and most recently spent time with the San Diego Chargers beginning in 2013.

Johnston was named Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 1997 with the Packers.

Johnston is the father of current Baylor junior linebacker Clay Johnston.

Big hire IMO... Great guy, great family! Gets to coach his son at the collegiate level! Looking forward to see what he can do at Baylor whatever his job title may be!

I had no idea Clay Johnson's dad was on an NFL staff. Is he as good as or better than #KazTheStandard?
