Baylor to hire Jeff Nixon as Co-Offensive Coordinator
Nixon was in his first year as tight ends coach prior to being with the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles as running backs coach for the past nine years. Nixon coached All-Pro running backs Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy, as well as All-Pro full back Leonard Weaver.

In 2014 under Nixon's direction, the Dolphins ranked second in the NFL in average yards per carry (4.69). Miller eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his career, rushing for a career-high 1,099 yards, the most by a Dolphins running back since RB Ricky Williams rushed for 1,121 yards in 2009.
Prior to joining the Eagles, Nixon served as the running backs coach at Temple University in 2006. From 2003-05, Nixon coached at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he worked with the running backs, tight ends, and as a special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator.
Nixon coached at Princeton in 1998 as the school’s running backs coach and he began his coaching career in 1997 as a student assistant coach at Penn State.
A Rochester, PA native, Nixon played running back for West Virginia
from 1993-94 before transferring to Penn State, where he earned spots on
both the Dean’s List and the Big Ten Conference All-Academic Team.
