Wondering how your experience was?

Give her time to get a ride home from the jail. I'm curious to hear how it went as well. Please tell me you went to the game BayerBear?

TCU rans really aren't that bad. I know a few exceptionally nice ones. They are kinda like petulant country club kids, inept on the football but high on the snootiness factor.

But then again, I went to an Oregon game and they're hands down the worst fans I've seen in a decade. I'll bring a weapon if I'm ever at an Oregon game again.

Like almost any P5 school you want to name, TCU has some nutty and some obnoxious fans here and there and yes, they hate Baylor, but on the whole their fanbase is pretty average by comparison to most places. I've been to games at Collie Station back when we were annually playing the aggys and IMO TCU fans don't hold a candle by comparison.
Agree with this. Most TCU fans have big mouths. That's where it ends. Harmless.

They aren't going to break a manicured nail or mess up blow dried hair to do anything.

Alternatively have some jellybeans in your pocket and just toss them around. The tcu fans will scatter chasing them.

I think you meant to say meth instead of jelly beans.

I haven't read all the new comments on this thread yet, but here's my update: THEY WERE NICE!!!!! We parked at a friend's house a mile from the stadium and walked (about 15 of us Baylor fans). Not one frog fan said a word to us. We sat in the Baylor section way up high and were amongst Bears the entire game (4 frogs were right behind us but were really quiet). Then afterwards, we went down to wait for the guys to come out (my cousin is one of our best players!) and two separate frog fans came up to us and congratulated us on the win. Then we walked the mile back to the car without incident. I have one friend who said they yelled F-YOU at her after the game, but we had a great experience. Sic 'em! No jail for me!

Glad you had a good time. But really was hoping for a "good" story. Thanks for the update.

Boo...you had an opportunity to really impress your kids and you dropped the ball! Just kidding, glad things went well and you got to see an incredible win!

Spot on.

Never been but Oregon seems like CU when they were good or Tech in the mid 2000s.. maybe slightly better

My experience at the game was fine. I did not take to very many people in purple, but when I do it was all pleasant & cordial.

those are pretty good comparisons. People forget that Ski U was one of the first schools to have wide open beer sales in their stadium because of the Coors affiliation. They are/were very much kind of school with bent politics. Tech is just trashy. Lot of mouthy idiots.

it's not like Oregon has some deep fan base. They aren't a big school. But because of the Nike money and several years of great Chip Kelly teams, they have a wildly inflated view of their place in the sports universe, then you factor in drugs and a long time hippie culture and it's just a bad crowd.

I know people like dreaming up wild scenarios for conference affiliations, but I don't want to play trash teams.

My wife and I love away games. We get to travel a bit and see different places. We saw our first conference game in WV, and the people could not have been nicer. We took our 8 year old grandson to the TCU game today and he absolutely loved it. Everyone was nice to us, but he asked about one particular Frog student cheer. I told him that students can be really rude, so try not to be like that when you get older!

They were very humble after the loss...crickets after the game. They only talk **** when they win, so they have talked less this year.

Was at the game yesterday and didn't come across a single bad TCU fan. Even after the game I saw a few of them congratulate Baylor fans as we were leaving the stadium. No question that some of them hate us because 1) We got into the Big 12 long before they did and 2) Briles and GP weren't exactly BFF's. But generally speaking, it seems like that hate is starting to dissipate. And as others have said, EVERY P5 school has some dirtbag fans, including us.

and not all TCU fans are Patterson loyalists. The TCU fans I knew want to keep that deal arms length.> He doesn't represent the school well on the podium, but he treats his players fairly well. It just seems he's always one play from a total meltdown.

I don't like big sporting events, because I've seen some nuttiness and dangerous crowd behavior.
But TCu is far from that experience.

The worst thing that could happen to you at a TCU game is an older fan could tell you to get off the lawn or something.

Slightly terrified after reading all of the comments about how horrible TCU fans are. We've never been to an away game, but my two boys and I have tickets for tomorrow. Is it worth subjecting them (and myself) to their disgusting and inappropriate fans? My die-hard Baylor fan friends who live in Fort Worth aren't even going because of the abuse they've suffered at games the past several years. We live an hour away and would love to go support the team, but ugh ... (I'm the mom FYI ...)
Wow. So glad this was from a mom and not dad.

BayerBear, I'd like to suggest you never take the kiddies to Tech. They are miserable and love to share their misery with visitors. They remind me of UT students back in the day when UT had no admission standards. The only difference was UT had great football teams and could talk xxxx then but Tech doesn't have that excuse.

Yes, I remember taking my 3 kids to a Baylor/Tech game at Jerry World a few years ago, and the Tech fans around us were horrible. One actually spit on my son who was about 6 at the time.

Funny little story. Wife and I were boarding one of the parking shuttles post game. Two froggies were sitting first row and appeared to be highly intoxicated. One of the guys said to my wife "You guys aren't any good. Alligators gonna tear y'all up next week" I said who's alligator and he said "what? You should learn you're opponents" We continued to our seats and I asked my wife if she heard "alligator" too. After several minutes of trying to figure out what the heck he was talking about it finally dawned on me. He was trying to say Ehlinger.

Of course as we exited the bus I let him know that we were playing OU next and he needed to learn OUR schedule before shooting his mouth.

Agree. The best way to form a negative opinion of *any* school's fanbase: spend ten minutes browsing their main message board.

This is hilarious! May have to test out saying Ehlinger in that situation if I'm capable of recording.
