Veteran OL coach Wickline top candidate to join Aranda, Fedora at Baylor

SicEm365 has learned that former Oklahoma State, Texas and West Virginia offensive line coach Joe Wickline has emerged as the No. 1 candidate to become Baylor’s offensive line coach. The two sides had conversations this week and it’s believed that an offer was made and Wickline has accepted.

Wickline spent five seasons as the offensive line coach under new offensive coordinator Larry Fedora at Oklahoma State (2005-2007) and Florida (2002-2004). The hiring of Fedora was announced by multiple outlets including SicEm365 on Saturday morning.

The hiring of Wickline has not been confirmed by Baylor at this time.

2020 Baylor Football Coaching Staff

Prior to sitting out the 2019 football season, Wickline spent two years (2016-2017) at West Virginia under Dana Holgorsen with one year as offensive coordinator and one year as offensive line coach. 

From 2014-2015 Wickline was the offensive run game coordinator and offensive line coach at the University of Texas under Charlie Strong. The stay in Austin came on the heels of a stretch from 2005-2014 at Oklahoma State where Wickline was also the run game coordinator and offensive linen coach. 

Wickline spent three seasons (2002-2004) at Florida and Middle Tennessee State (1999-2001) along with a two season stint at Baylor (1997-1998) as the offensive line coach. Wickline also spent seven seasons (1988-1994) at Ole Miss in the same position.
